[B]Bangers[B] - they will be making a wecolme return at the next regional, and justin is barred until at least after lunch time !!!

[B]The infield[B] is indeed royal carpet from the royal suite at wembley, don't tell HRH though as we said we were only borrowing it!!!

[B]track features[B] there is already a new feature on one bend, look at the pictures at the start of this thread and you may be able to spot it, trust me it will catch you out if your not careful as we found out testing it!!! There is also a plan to put another interesting feature in before the next regional

True. We all like different stuff though. personally i would have a little kicker in the middle of the track before the hairpin, and a small table top or kicker on the far left of the panaramic pic.

Not suggesting jumps everywhere. just something small to break up a largely flat area.

All the same, i can see myself driving up for a day here

Track drives lovely.

just the right mix of jumps and fast stuff. flows really well, even the corner table top works where others have failed. Can't wait to try it in the dry instead of upwards rain

That is what we don't want to do, go down the route of jumps everyewhere and make it too much like an American moto x track. The new feature we have put in is just something that could slow the cars down and make it interesting. We tried it out several times and it works, hit it too fast and it will throw you off line, get it right and you could gain a place or two if your in a battle.The last bend before the straight is ear marked for a winter project to see what we can come up with, but for now one more feature on one of the hairpins and we will leave it at that. We like the fast flowing nature of the track, with a mix of different features, jumps, table top, woops (I told you to look for them :-)).

Top bunch of peeps running this place, the track is superb and the hotdogs are amazing.

Nice to see the little ripples added and nice to know that it's designed to throw you off line and not on the roof - that's design!!!

Thanks ben you are excatly right we layed the ripples and there main purpose is to slow u down we tried many configs before we settled on what we layed. The main purpose is to throw u off line but if u dont respect them u will be on ur roof.

Great track and facilities, nice to have an astro layout in the East of England to compliment the grass and dirt tracks already across the region.

Looking forward to a dry run at either the regional or one of the summer meetings.

Ok, I would just like to say thanks for all the comments guys, Im really looking forward to running the next meeting.
Ive had a couple of PM's asking about the summer series. We will be running to BRCA rules, running 2WD, 4WD and Short Course classes.
At the moment Im considering two different race formats. Either 1 round of timed practice followed by 3 rounds of round by round qualifying, with the best two rounds to count, finishing with 3 leg finals.
OR..
1 round of timed practice followed by 5 rounds of round by round qualifying with the best 4 to count, finishing with single leg finals.
Ultimately, I will run which ever format drivers prefer. So its over to you guys, let me know what you think.

Personally I prefer the 3 leg finals. With more qualifying rounds and only single finals if something breaks in the first bend of the final it's all over, although I guess that's racing. Whereas at least with the 3 leg finals it rewards consistency over 3 races when it counts, in the finals!! Also I tend to feel the finals are more of a race amongst drivers, whereas qualifying is more of a race against the clock. That's my opinion anyway.
