I promise you,you wont need it,it will be like a missile down the straight as it is,

The turbo settings are mainly for the stock classes etc etc

If you need more overall power, add boost. If you need only top end for the straights, add some turbo.
When using boost/turbo, you need to use a slightly shorter ratio (smaller pinion) even if you are looking for more top end.

Cheers fella.

I noticed you have removed a bit of the sidepod material for the switch - I was thinking of doing the same

Did you have to remove any plastic for the capacitors - mine don't quite fit flat on as you have them ?

After reading LOTS of Orion R10 posts, I still don't know what some of the settings mean, or how to use them. Can someone please explain these in simple English

9: Boost Timing
10: Turbo Slope
11: Overheat Protection (ok I understand this one !!!!)
12: Turbo Timing
14: Turbo Delay

Not necessarily ... I uses lots of turbo adjustments (in combination with reduced boost adjustments) to help shape the torque curve with motors upto 5.5

Yep, I've watched that video, but he skims over the settings and does a bad job of explaining the ones he does mention !

I'm still unsure of what I'd change to get normal service in the infield and the extra timing kick in on the straight... Is this the 'turbo' or the 'boost' I need to change - and why ?

I had the same problem so emailed team Orion and below us what they had to say.
Hi,
*
Yes it is a little complicated but it’s what you need to have today to have a top performance ESC.
*
So the Boost Timing is the timing that is always applied, it’s the same as adding timing mechanically on the motor. All motors have some timing built inside them even if the notch on the motor says 0°. Usually motors have 15° or more built-in and some manufacturers cheat with this and put 30° or more so that you think the motor is super fast but in fact it’s already at max timing when you buy it… That’s why we set it a 0° so that we are sure you don’t burn your motors if they have crazy timings built into them already.
*
Turbo timing is extra timing that is added when at full throttle, it will give extra performance down the straight, etc.
*
Turbo slope rate sets how turbo timing is applied, basically x degrees of timing added every 0.1 second the ESC is at full throttle.
*
Turbo delay sets after how much time at full throttle before Turbo timing starts to be applied (at the rate defined by the turbo slope rate).
*
Makes it a bit clearer, for me anyway
