Looks really nice! motor does look in a much better place than the 22 for balance and things. Really like the way they have used a stick pack, looks well thought out

chassis does look like it would bolt onto a 22 though

Had a couple of these buggies join our Singapore National 2WD series today. Looked good on the track!

Thought I'd share some pics.

I quite like the sound of this: A couple of guys run Hobao SC trucks (4x4) on our track and they seem to be really happy with them - this may prove to be a very well performing car!

The Ho Bao H2's have now arrived in the UK

I used the Pro version at the Silverstone meeting last weekend and it dragged me up to the A final!
It felt so easy to drive. Probably needed a bit more weight at the front but otherwise very impressed with it.

The 'Pro' version I believe will retail at £150

According to this it's a 3 gear mid config gearbox:

http://hobao-racing.com/en/images/pr...ded%20View.pdf

Very 22 looking chassis design.

but it's a different story here....

quite Durango in its design?

Actually the second one could be a Serpent 2WD... look like Hobao logo on rear tyres though?!

It is definitely the Hobao car in photo...

after a bit of digging something has come to light regarding gearbox...

it's a MM3/4 or RM3/4 single gearbox as Durango's DEX210....

raises questions regarding what was actually patented by Durango, whether it is a worldwide patent or if there is a case to challenge?

Pre production car has geared diff and there will be 3 models... RTR, plastic chassis budget car and pro version.

Not sure about mixed anodizing and shocks look a bit cheap but it may well be worth looking at as a contender, obviously price dependant.

Well spotted on the gearbox.
There is something to do with the Durango patent apparently but Ho Bao have taken this into account.
It can certainly be run as a 3 or 4 gear mid motor and also a 3 or 4 gear rear motor. I ran it as a 4 gear mid motor.

The front end is quite like a 22, but uses bellcranks rather then a rack for the steering. The gearbox has the motor much closer to the axle too so shouldn't suffer those issues.
The shocks are really nice. I re-filled them a couple of times to find out what sort of oil I wanted (no set-ups available yet so was flying blind). Despite that I never managed to get any air in them!

Here's mine,i have cut the side pods to allow me to use saddle packs as well as a shorty lipo,iv'e also flipped the rear tower so the shocks mount better at the rear of the wishbones.

very impressed so far and there is alot of car for your money,no pics of the shell yet as im working on couple of different idea's but it wont be long.

sorry about picture quality,my phone camera is useless

Is there any built in servo saver on them or does it need a servo add-on?

danny, I think you'll find your answer in here:

Exploded View

They've got their own servo horn with integrated servo saver - it's not sophisticated, should be good as long as it's not made for cheap-o 3kg servos.

What I saw in the exploded view is that the gearbox and steering rack strongly reminds me of the DEX210, whereas the chassis is clearly TLR22 based.
