I would avoid those Tamiya models and look at the B4.1 ready to run or the Ansmann as people have suggested. Most second hand stuff will be worn out and you will quickly spend more money putting things right.

I would not rule out finding a club and racing. Bashing is great for a while but there are only so many bmx tracks you can drive around.. a club offers great advice, the chance to race against people with a similar interest and you actually have something to drive around.. to see if you can get quicker.

If you have £200 to spend you should get a B4.1 RTR, cant go wrong with that and you can upgrade it to top competition level if you choose.
The Ansmann is similar but cheaper & less well built.
