That still remains to be seen. It really depends on what people think. There is no technical reason not to allow it, but if people don't feel safe its a no.

im planning running the 4 local 8th tracks anyway, just would pop to bury to see all the familiar faces and see whats happening, with certain people leaving bury I dont see much of a challenge anymore and would rather race something bigger scale.

ive spent £400 tonight on a tekin motor and speedo and futaba transmitter it aint cheap haha

I'd just buy the serpent then.

I can't wait for this and cannot wait for 8th tracks!!! If I'd known there were so many up here I'd have done 8th a long time ago

And have you researched the 408? There a massive demand for this, lots of people are waiting some have given up and bought a dnx408 and converted it to EP with a conversion from Italy

8th EP is the next big this it's obvious and Durango know this

The next big thing????? Yes mate that's why we all had them 2 year ago "been there done that won't do it again"

Phil in all honesty save your money and just stick to 1/10 but if it's competition you crave travel else where

Sorry but I beg to differ, there are alot buggies with 1/8th EP out there or soon to be released, and from the chitter chatter on 8th forums EP is the next big thing. after all its cleaner and cheaper to run in a long run than nitro.

I cant wait to see this stuff ive ordered.

1/10th is just to small and fiddly ive enjoyed it but not for racing with. the huge 8th tracks with all sorts of obsticals look much more fun.

1/8th EP's sell well as bashers, but so far racing uptake is limited. There is simply little point. By the same token there are several types of nitro 1/10ths common amongst bashers but not raced. As a rule for the last 20 years nitro = 1/8th, electric = 1/10th.
The result is the 1/10th tracks are really too small for 1/8ths, and 1/8th clubs are heavily populated by nitro-heads who will hate your electric powered 'toy'.
Electric 1/8th enjoyed a brief burst of interest 2 years back as 1/10th racers tried something bigger, and 1/8th boys tried something quieter, but both groups soon reverted to what they know. It was what I'd refer to as a novelty group - being tried out by people who's real interests lay elsewhere. There were virtually no 1/8th EP only racers.

If you've bought the electrics why not get a DESC410 to put them in? It shares spares with your DEX, but is a very different beast indeed, and now has a very competitive class going on in our area.

Speaking of which, its worth pointing out that SC trucks have really only started becoming a successful racing class in their own right (rather than a novelty class) very recently. Its wasn't until this year that we got decent numbers of people who only owned trucks, and only wanted to race trucks. With 1/8th EP being a little behind SCT's, I'd suggest 1-2years more time before you get worthwhile numbers for places to consider actual 1/8th EP classes. Its made worse by the sheer cost.

I'm not a fan of the bloated buggies. As for EP racing it's happening and it's growing!

Not for one minute am I saying it will take over or be as big as 1/10th but times are changing and I'm going to be there helping it grow at the 4 local tracks up north

I love the way you refer to SCT's as bloated buggies, but 1/8ths as 'the future'!
Only the Durango is based on a 1/10th buggy in the first place - the Losi, Hong Nor and Hobao models are all based on 1/8ths and the Traxxas and AE versions are custom made. They aren't big buggys at all!

Anyway, good luck. You'll have a tough enough time as an electric racer at a nitro club, and your famous habit for talking out your bottom means the local 1/8th guys are gonna love you!

I highly doubt a 1/8th tekin would be suitable for a SC truck

Im looking for something cometative, and bury has nothing of the sort now there used to be one or two but I want to try new tracks, bury is flat as a pancake, 1/8th tracks look WAY more fun and technical.

I highly doubt a club would shun away a member just for the fact its EP especially as its the way the 8th scene is opening up

Since when have you become judgemental Si!?

If you are really looking for competition then stick with 10th and do the big meetings. They are really competitive. My best time yesterday was about 5 secs slower than matt b's but I ended up 12 places behind him in the finals!!! That's how close and competive 10th is at the moment.

I was winning on of my 4WD heats for a few laps, I crashed for literally 2 or 3 secs and dropped 6 places!
