I think losi would stand a chance in 2wd if they actually sent some drivers truhe did well for 5th last year as he was one of the very few losi drivers there.

Who is the only BIG team who hasnt developed a new 4wd car, if other companies think its worth it to spend 1000`s developing new cars it shows that losi have little or no interest in 10th off road.

Sad but true

IMO the next world will be monopolized by ae like the one in japan.
I do agree that it's all down to the driver at the end of the day...
But if all the drivers all drive the same car, then it isn't much of a competition then...
I think it's all about the euros at this point unless HB invests in a cerious team, Or Losi brings out a Sxxx4 then it might get intresting ...

i think you have to be a brave man to bet against an associated winning the worlds.....

it went to HB, Yokomo and Tamiyas playground (japan) and still won. so in south afirca where theres a level playing field....well i think something drastic has to happen.....

but who knows who will be driving for who come 2009.

Vinny thanks for your vote of confidence, much appreciated! and i will be trying hard to put my name in the mix!

I think it could be done and im sure if you got the right clay and some decent drainage then it is definatley possible to do...... but...... the cost of land in the uk is stupid. I looked into it a while ago and if i were to put it on private land it would cost a fortune but if it was on council land then we would have less options available to us with regards to the surface and the features within the track.

If i could get a bit of waste land that would be suitable for a track then i would put my own cash into it to make a really good track, and would try to make it a dirt track too

for those who used to race 15 years ago will remember the track at Tamworth.. that was a clay track and one of a kind at the time , in the dry it was great fun but very dusty & bumpy, but if it rained then forget it !!!!.

I never went there but i knew of it - Plus there were others such as Taunton (Outdoor Dirt), Basildon (Dirt an 1993 Worlds track)... It's just hard to maintain a dirt track in the UK but i guess if they manage it ok in Austria, France, Sweden etc then we should really be able to do it here even with the rain we get!

I think if it could be built so the rain ran off it then it would be ok, running in the wet would be bad and would really kill the track as it would rut up and be awful.

I think a base of dolomite on which the water can drain through and a few inches of clay to race on would be good as well as clever track designs which will allow the water to drain off the track and stop it getting water logged.

Anyone remember the Euro's in Austria (1999)?? That was so funny, it pi$$ed it down for 4wd and they put Wood chippings all over the track to try and soak it up but it was awful - The cars would last about 2 mins as by one lap the wheels were like 1/5th scale size so the cars were rapid but just dumped lol

Clay/Dirt is awesome but not when it rains.....
