The space is taken from the front of the car so you can run it in the rear or mid configuration.

The 5mm has been taken out of the front of the car, between the servo and the lipo. By moving the lipos to a cross chassis location it moves the weight rearwards, which will help with rear traction but also take weight, and therefore grip, away from the front. Taking the 5mm out of the front should help keep some weight over the front axle, so you get more rear traction but without losing front end bite.

That's the theory anyway, seems to be working so far - just need to see how it goes tomorrow at the National...

I'm afraid we've not tested the car on a dirt track yet - not sure where in the UK we'd find something with high grip dirt!!!

I believe Dave Church ran the car rear motored at Oswestry on Saturday, hopefully he can post some feedback on how it went.

We have pretty much confirmed the release date as the 29th July. We've updated the details on our website to have the full production specification - http://www.akularacing.co.uk/portfolio/speartooth-22/

The retail price is now confirmed as £155, but we are now able to include an undertray in with the kit that will allow the kit shell to be used. The FTW Blade and Vane shell will still fit the chassis with no problems.

The conversion will be available directly from ourselves and also from our retail partners Telstar Racing, M K Racing and Apex Models. You can pre-order from ourselves by e-mailing [email protected] or by contacting any of the above shops.

Thanks to Mark and Simon at RC Lazy who've put together a quick video of the Speartooth - have a look at http://www.rclazy.com or http://youtu.be/iO4kz_8stSU

Release date will be this Friday - we will be shipping all pre-order on the 29th. Kits will be sent in advance of the release date to our retail partners M K Racing, Apex Models, Telstar Racing and RC Lazy - so pre-orders placed through them will also be shipped on the 29th.
