Hi dude.

Also raced a madrat a few times at torch and johns ( mrmagoo ) setup is pretty spot on as i have used it and it improved the handling of my car.

The other factor you may consider is weight. Not sure what setup you have but my madrat was transformed when I put 100g under the lipo and 50g under the servo. Made the car alot more settled. It was all over the place without weights and made the car very skittish and had loads of understeer.

I also cut the outside spikes on the rear and that reduced grip roll.

Other than that its just practice.


Hopefully i will be down this Sunday and giving the Mad Monkey (midrat) its first run.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the set up tips, i was wondering if anyone had a 2.4 stick tranmittor and receiver for sale as i need one for sunday if not i will buy cheap and then next month get a good one??

Cheap one Core FHSS 2.4 on the way for sunday cost 15 pounds when sending back my new reciever that doesnt work all i can say is never buy a DHSSS system . I know should spend money but in stock and means i can race sunday . with all my other new stuff.

As my main control what about this

Futaba 3gr-fs 2.4????

Yep. Very good radio system. Well worth the money.

Rob bought one about 4 years ago and it has been superb ever since.

I have a nearly new wheel tranny and receiver if you wanted to borrow them for a while?

I know they work 100%.

Thank you for the offer i will let you know as i have just got the cheap core FHSSS system for this weekend so hope it does work and when paid will buy a good one.

Just want to be able to drive around the track ha ha
