Sounds a good idea, just think, vodka in hand all the way there, haha.
I may be interested as I was planning on driving.

I looked into this for the 2003 Euro's in Vienna.
Then it was approx £5,500 with two drivers.
That was for one pick up point in the UK and returning to the same place.
On top of that, we would have had to pay for the Hotel for the drivers. We didn't do it as there were only 9 racers going (about 20 - 25 people total) so it worked out cheaper to fly.

The bus sounds expensive, if I drive, which it looks like I will, I will be offering to take peoples stuff, for a small fee, hehe

anyone had anymore thoughts on this?

Just been looking at flights and found some for £161 each from Birmingham to Turin

Obviously we would need a car in Turin for getting to the track!

To drive from the Uk its about 1800miles round trip, car hire and fuel are about £650 oh plus 13hr drive!

Renault do a 7 seater Transit van. If you can fit 7 people in plus there kit. Share the driving, Fuel and travel costs would bring the cost down. Just a thought.

JP the thing that will make flying difficult is the weight limits! Unless you have someone else going thats not racing, or you get someone to take some stuff in their car. When I went to Japan I had 33kg and just made it, and the limit has been dropped to 23kg for all. Now you can get extra weight limit for sporting equipment, but I would recomend you confirm this before booking, as Lee M and Jimmy and Vikky got spanked for extra weight coming home from Japan. And do the airlines call our gear sporting equpiment? We know it is, but def confirm before booking

If one person is going to drive all chip in and hire them a van , load all said gear into van, then when you fly only carry car and trasmitter.Cheep flights are great but you can have very little luggage before they sting you extra weight. We did this for the 1/8th euros in italy 2004 one chap had a van and drove over with all the fuel etc it was a god send. Oh yer make sure the van has a good alarm & 2x pit bulls on the pasenger seat
