This is the point i think that is trying to be put accross.

Quite a few of your regulars are also 1/8th drivers who have actively encouraged other 1/8th drivers to invest in 1/10th kit so they can support TORCH.

It is more likely IMO that those existing 1/8th drivers will turn up for an all day event than 1/10th drivers that are not going to a regional who have never been before.

All we want is for the club to get as many people turning up as possible. At no point do i expect the calander to be arranged around my diary or choices, but it may of been benificial to of spoken with some of the 8th drivers first to maximise numbers and profit to the club.

To say it doesn't matter because numbers are on the up anyway is not the right road to go down.

Maybe Robs idea of one of the 8th drivers being on the comittee should be persued.

Seems despite differing views we have come to same conclusion - are you volunteering as Tony did not seem keen?

We can hold a hold an EGM at the start of a sunday meeting and vote you on?

Rob

ummmm, hadn't really thought about it. Happy to talk about what would be involved and have a good think. Just depends how much you would need me at TORCH as won't be there every week

Maybe you could reconsider your date choices just to give the option of racing in your summer series to more drivers.

Round 2 clashes with Slough 2 Day 8th National.
Round 3 clashes with Slough Club meeting.
Round 4 clashes with Clanfield 8th National.
Round 5 clashes with Slough 3 day Proline meeting.

Rob W has a tough job sorting the dates as this year is hectic but I for 1 would like to race at TORCH on a regular basis as it has loads of potential and will be a top venue!

RR.

RE is it sponsored - I'm working on it.

I'm also working on another all day meeting, but not part of the summer series.

Talked about it last year, but if that was the case I'd want others to step up and run it. Remember comittee members are there to race too.

Re summer series I'm in discussions with a RC company at the moment, so it may be a control tyre series. TBC

Committee members racing? No chance, you gave up that right when you signed on . What about an open practice night instead!

Control tyre would be good, help on budgets and ease of set up

Good luck with the RC Company....

Why not just leave the lap timer running for a few hours, so kind of like a timed practice. Do a few laps, change the set up, few more laps etc etc, then check times for what works?

Dudders

If you can rally enough support and propose a time from and 2. Fee and support to run, I would love to see it happen, just needs to be commitee led for BRCA reasons.

I would ask the farmer and would agree with a 6pm open and maybe say 8.30pm close???? Farmer needs to agree and I would expect numbers of 6 - 10+ people.

Open to dicussion

Thanks Steve

Steve,

I think come the summer months this could be quite easy to get 10 people min on a Wednesday or Friday night.

I know I could bring 2 paying people, plus another 2 easily (Racing whores ) and I'm sure a few more stragglers would come. Head to the pub next door afterwards for a beer and food at dusk .

I know its subject to weather etc but it could work. 7.00pm would be better for us travellers . Perhaps you guys can sort some provisional dates and create a sign up?. http://www.new-age.co.uk/sun-times.htm May to August 'could' work.

However, open track from 6.30pm till 9.30pm for a £10 or so would be wicked IMHO. Great chance to test some set ups in a relaxed atmosphere.

Neil

My thoughts about it are that I'd prefer a testing night / social thing etc. Leave the racing till Sunday. Christ i've got plenty to test on the Cougar SV and Durango..

Agree Mike, but having the timing running all night might be a bonus

I'd be up for timed practice sessions, being new to this 'leccy lark I've got a lot to learn! Practice is good, and if we can leave a laptop running with timing information it means you can really work out if you're actually improving, or your setup changes are working. Friday nights would be perfect for me, but could probably do any week night really.

Rather than having timed practice on an evening, wouldn't it be easier just to do it Sunday afternoon after racing and charge just a couple of quid?

i like the idea of timed practice on an evening. it would bring in more funds for the club and with the typical unpredictable British weather should guarantee some track time every week

Evenings would be perfect, would be more social and relaxed. Also at the end of a meeting I have a certain CBA attitude and am usually knackered!

hi all you will have to excuse me if this sugestion is no good but why cant you increase the number of races i.e at the moment 4 out of 6 to count why no 4 out of 8 to count as at torch you run a meeting every sunday anyway this way the better drivers could maybe make 4 and still compete in the championship and less skilled drivers like myself could have chances to improve there position plus would give more leaway for bad weather and suchlike

regards Elliott
