personally, I cannot see any advantages with going to saddle arrangement.

with the mid mounts, you want as much weight towards the rear, and the standard setup accommodates this.

how are you going to get the 35/65 weight bias with saddles??

It's not so much the forward/rear bias that's important, it's the fact that with saddles you significantly reduce the amount of weight hanging out at the extreme sides of the chassis. By bringing the weight more towards the centre line you reduce the tendency to role.

Here at Southport, even for a very moderate driver like me, I can hang on to my speed longer on the straight with a saddle-arrangement, knowing that the buggy will remain flatter through the fast end bend. But that's in the dry with good to high traction, with a bit of damp I switch back to stick to get more rear traction. It's a very quick way to tune the car without having to move lead/brass weights around. I only need to do that when it gets really wet.
