either way, polycarb paint don't cut it, just go down to your local autofactors, and buy some flex primer, white, blue and then lacquer, they look ace after and make the shell a lot more resillient, as long as you spray it right.

The ABS is a biatch to clean grubby marks off.

Also, mount the shell and do all the wheel arches first before you spray, the spray around the lip and under the shell.

Thinking about it my local model shop does like trim lines for cars like tape that you use for trims and lines down the side of shells.

So cut wheel arches out.
Spray with white flex primer.
then laquer on top.
then put the line tape stuff on.

or

Cutwheel arches out
spray with white flex primer
mask blue section
spray with blue flex primer
then spray with laquer

As a little completely unrelated sidenote, that car is currently sitting about 10 miles away from me in a friends private collection

He restored it from near ruin, he used it himself this year at a small event with lots of classic escorts.
