I think he still does his job from Tamiya's point if view, look how many people more are running the car in the uk now...at one national in 2008 I was told I was the only Tamiya there when they checked them all through!

Unfortunately all those sales go abroad! I personally used Stella, I ordered one kit when it was first announced not knowing anyone here would bring them in, but wanted a 2nd for spares, was going to go through MK for that until hearing how late hobbyco were getting them...If I'd known he had another route I'd have been more patient

511 is a different story, I don't think Tamiya has any either in Japan, just Tamiyausa as far as I can tell!

They're so good they have sold out!!! I still know quite a few people who are after them.
Anybody who drives one cant help being impressed. Very easy car to drive.

Your right about the Hobby Company being a joke James, mines come today, but the wing won't be here till the beginning of September, & the bodyshell, the end of September, as for spares, they say they don't recognise any of the part numbers! Ordered them from Rc Mart now.
What a joke!

I live 11 miles from Hobby Co, everyone working there is a waste of skin. When you give them part numbers they recocnize they say they will take 6 to 8 weeks to deliver .............. 4 or 5 days from Hong Kong and half the price

I'd love the shops to have spares all over the UK but I can't imagine it happening while the monkey controlling the Hobby Co is still in charge.

The 511 is the best 4wd on the market, so easy to drive fast, not used a 201 yet so can't comment.

I received the idler at 1:30, it was fitted at 1:32, the call was made at 1:40, so I am hoping Neil@RW knocked a good few out, I did suggest to send 10 to Mark first.

Steve - ive not built my 201 yet. Wont be runnign it until the winter series indoors. im not familiar with the build but you obviously are. i understand the issue with the idler, but whats the issue with the layshaft ? Should i wait for the RW one before building the car or is it a luxury rather than a neccesity ?

Cheers mate

I haven't had an issue as yet with it, but it has the same principle as the first SV layshaft, where the pin was a snug fit, and retained by an o-ring, if you nip the o-ring, or it fails, then the pin comes out. Schumacher have changed it so the pin is a tight fit, I just dont see the need for the pin to be there at all, so the layshaft would be more like the B4/Losi/RB5 item, solid item.

OK many thanks for the reply, i`ll probably wait for RW then, if something is gonna go wrong then it does when you have travelled 80 miles to race and you have every part but the one you need

Cheers

thats what my thought was!! so thought it best to sort it now. I know the idler has been a major issue, yet mine is perfect and done 3 meetings... but you know how Murphy runs his law!!
