That's sacrilege mate!

There's 2 things I'll never do:
1) Sell them
2) Tell my wife how many I've got

I will need many years to come in order to get them all restored. I just love tinkering with these olden goldies!

Poppin' the cherry on a 30 year old NIB kit just feels sooo good!!!

Plastic is the material of choice here in the UK, due to its more forgiving nature owing to extra flex, but graphite will be more precise "if" the car is set up perfect.

good to be back on track on this thread

I realise that since I started this project, x-factory came out with the saddle pack chassis, and it seems that the plastic version will be best suiting to my driving style, and I will for the most part drive on astro-tracks.

I have also seen the new body available for the x6, but I still dont quite like the looks of that, so I will be moving forward with this project of mine.

I will try not to make the chassis too stiff with my c-f parts along the edges, more like trying to maintain the stiffness from the plastic chassis.

I spent some time with my dremel yesterday, and will post some pics as soon as the kids are in bed, and I can go down into my "hobby-cave" in the basement again tonight.

Thx! What is the part no for a fitting carbon battery strap for saddle LiPos?

Can I use this? DMS139? (Is that the same that fit the old X-6 chassis?) I guess not...

XF1223?

...or let me specify, I have a std X-6 with carbon rear tower. I want to go to squared, and a saddle lipo config. What do I need?

-machined plastic squared chassis
-new rear arms?
-new rear tower?
-brass bushings?
-same hinge pins?
-saddle lipo brace?
-any posts etc. needed for brace?

Thx Darren! While I'm at ordering from you, when do you reckon you will receive the new pre-cut staggers?

Anything else new & cool for the X-6? (still waiting for that bling subscription thing )

Seriously, you should (given you have the time) make an email newsletter, segmented pr. class or something. Check out www.yourmailinglistprovider.com - great stuff!

...yeeees? Did she force you to sit in the sofa, hold hands, and watch Top Model in stead?

time flies...

As mentionned, I spent some time with my dremel, and think I have a plan...

As the B4 shell is not really prpared for the mid-engine configuration, I am wondering whether I might use a cougar shell instead, so I drew up the outline of a cougar shell on a scrap chassis, and fired up the dremel.

It then ended up something like this:

The plan is then to make some 3-5mm wide c-f reinforcements along the sides.

With the shell, it looks like this:

I just need to make a hole for the slipper adjuster and maybe trim it a little.
