Ya 2000kv on 5s is over kill. Looks cool when you see the massive power but you want something in the high 20K or low 30K RPM wise for better efficiency, cooling and control of car. This might help:

Thanks It's been a fun build and I hope to get it back on the road soon.
That is the intended right now, I know it's a little overkill, but then again I'm a basher turning more to the track.

I had planned on keeping to the 1700kv mark, but it's the option open to me. It's either this motor or I have to wait a long while before I can play.

Fair enough. 2000KV would be fine for bashing - just watch the temps. However, for racing I fear that it'd be a little too much.

I've wired up the spekky telemetry and it's producung the same numbers as my temp gun, just no idea where "too hot" is in numerical values.
Not had it over 40c yet, but only had a few short bursts up and down the street.

Generally accepted max is 160-180°F. After that is rotor debonding territory.
