Yes that sounds right. Tighten those diffs up . With or without slipper, you probably want the diffs to be tight enough that you will only get about 3/4 turn if you spin one tire by hand (open palm). Do this with the car held in the air. Typically the front diff is set a little tighter than the rear...

are these a direct replacement for the stock diff plates ?

and i tightened them i discovered the noise was my gear mesh it was slightly too tight its bloody hard to set and to get my eyes on it without having to hold it upto the light i can do it by feel but a visual confirmation is better

Hmmmm, I know the Tamiya 501X diff joints are pricey but I think they are well worth it if you ever want to run a big power motor. I think you still need to use the diff rings whichever joint you choose, you deffo do with the Tamiya 501X ones and as the 3racing ones are alloy I'm pretty sure you'd have to use the diff rings or the balls will chew through in no time.

501x diff joints are a directly replacement for the stock DB-01 plastic diffs. You do also need to buy the diff rings. 51287 for the diff plates and 51286 for the diff joints.

I run a 4.5T motor with the 3 racing diff halves ,the tamiya ones are pretty much identical as i have these also but were twice the price! and of course you need to use diff plates.

wooo buggered a diff

took her out earlier on the snow was great fun until i got her back and felt the rear diff it was mega loose Undone even after

taking her apart it seems like the screw going through the diff has pulled the threads out of the bolt and bent the bolt so ive either tightened it too much before the run or somethings applied alot tension when in use

anyway i need a new nyloc nut and a 1.5mm bolt

any ideas ?

Nah, you can use the existing DB01 diff plates, all you need to replace are the joints.

DB-01 comes supplied with pno 51287 diff rings.

I've got the rear diff joints and assembly shafts waiting to be installed this weekend. Just installed the atomic carbon damper bridges but still need the longer ball connectors.

the car took some massive abuse and not a think broke or gave up althought the rear diff doesnt feel too happy
