Richer sounds usually have some good deals on LCD's and the 5 year warranty is only 10% of the TV price.

+1 on the Sony's. The KDL40w4500 is a great set

I find ebuyer to be excellent on price and customer service plus the reviews for each item is handy

http://www.ebuyer.com/search?page=1&...33&subcat=2354

Just for example i bort a 37" for around £450.00 and after 6 months it stopped working, i rma`d it and they replaced it within a week! still got the telly now and the bonus is that they refunded me £100.00 as the telly had gone down in value, i was well chuffed.

hope this helps

Andy

Thanks for the discussions so far guys.

Unfortunately, after a bit of work with a tape measure, it is clear that a 37" TV will not fit in my living room.

I'm now looking for a 32" TV.

http://www.plasma-lcd-facts.co.uk/myths/energy-use/

have a nose around that site, plenty of info on there

as a note that site was paid for buy Panasonic & Pioneer who make both LCD & Plasma screens but wanted people to enjoy the Plasma viewing experience without being put off by old wives tales like " plasma screens need to be regassed" etc

the wider viewing angle along with a more durable screen makes it almost an easy choice for most households
