I kind of see vxl boys point. I think it was just an observation more than a dig. It is expensive there is no arguing with that. Not club fees and stuff thats the cheap bit its the getting started bit thats the expensive part. But if its too expensive for you then get a different hobby.

Or failing that, don't get the top spec kit too soon, there's still plenty of brushed stuff thats quite good.

Concentrating on one car instead of ten will help keep the costs down - its always expensive to maintain more than one car

You are complaining about the cost of BRCA membership (£12) and a few quid for race meetings but you have
10 cars/trucks
9 sets of brushless speedos and motors and
6 packs of lipos

WTF ?

10 bashing set ups would of bought you 2 race setups and enough spare cash to run them for a season or more.

Thin out the collection - you cant drive more than one at a time

I think the guys are saying if you sell some off and keep your favourite then you'll also have more money as you'll spend less on one truck rather than 10.

not being funny, but they ain't cheap, and what you use to race and bash, are different.

I don't work, but can afford to race, but thats it, don't have any bashing stuff at all.

I think you might be missing the point here.

Reverse your argument and you'll see:

Running 2 cars for a race season costs as much as 10 bashing cars.

which means racing is expensive. 5x more expensive than bashing. Go find a random guy off the street and tell him that 1 car is better than 5 and he'll think you are nuts! Especially when the 5 cars in question include stuff like a Savage (which can do jumps and take abuse far better than our race cars) and a Rustler VXL (which on 3S will outrun our race cars on 2S). You and I both know our race cars are better, but to the uninitiated that simply cannot be the case.
