Have just raced for the first time with my zx5 with the KMC conversion.
Went very well but after a few laps it started to strip the "Bevel" gear where the drive is transfered to the rear diff. I changed it and put some shims on but this did not help. Any idea's on how to solve this gratefully received |

Ran mine at CML yesterday took 4th in the C.
I have never stripped a gear so can i suggest the following. On the short side of the diff (flat of the gear) use two silver and one copper shim On the long side of the diff use on silver shim. When built new there should be no back lash, if you have any at all add another copper shim to the short side, which pushes the gears closer together. Also check your slipper is not too tight, the shaft that it sits on in the kmc is threaded furthur than the lazer shaft. |

Ran mine outside yesterday for the first time. Fitted with a 10x1 V2 motor - didn't miss a beat all day (apart from one motor wire coming off). Left the diffs shimmed as I had been running it, with virtually no action from the slipper.
Qualified 4th in the A of the first round of the SE Regionals - finished 6th. Well happy - and it's a lot better indoors too. |

i shim mine only on one side (to make it tighter), i think 1 silver and 1 copper. the bevel and ball diff is not super tight, i shim it so it has a little play (not much but a little bit) either way most important is the slipper |

i run law34 on my regular chassis.
honestly i cant say any improvement, because of changing track conditions on a weekly basis. my car felt great prior to law34 and it still feels great with law34. conclusion law34 is not essential |
