It is a good idea Alec, I think you should give it a test run at the Stotfold National!!!!
It will take some time to get all the drivers names on a bit of paper, and to draw the names and to collect all the money and then to pay the winners!!!

As the level of racers helping in the running of meetings has increased, this is a great idea that can help get loads of people watching and cheering on all the finals!!!!! I would like to see more cheering during finals!!!!!!

120 drivers at the average national and we get 11 different people respond to this thread, have to say I didn't expect too much though

At least they are all positive, I was expecting a few knockers to chip in

As long as it is all in place by the time the qualifying is over there shouldn't be a problem. A simple way would be to post a note on the results board telling drivers where to go to obtain their "man from the hat" and pay their money ........... mc's DC and TT could keep the crowd informed as to where/when and how many are left in the pot and how long they've got before the draw ends. The winners of each final would be known straight after their particular final and because the ticket holder would be watching the race (you would think) the money could be given over at that point so there would be no delay at the end of the meeting.

sounds like a good idea,£1 or £2 ether would be fine,the main thing is to have top drivers cheering for billy ten year old IMHO,what a cool idea.may be run it like a raffle were you pay a quid and pick a ticket so its not compulsory

The pricing all depends on demand, try it at £1 to start and if they sell like hot cakes put it up to £1.50 or £2 for the next meeting.

120 sweeps up for grabs, with 120 drivers + mums, dads etc. And i'm sure there will be people wanting more than one go, i'd certainly have 2 or 3 goes if pos.

Sods law says i'd pick myself though, not sure if I could handle the pressure
