I've seen this overheating thing come up a few times, I guess it must be an issue on some of the chargers, I would suggest people take them back to the retailer I don't think it's 'by design'. I've regularly used mine on 5 amps for long periods without problems.

Spoke to Microtech today who in turn steered me to Flightech the bods behind the Bantam Kit .
They were very helpful and didnt seem to concerned that i was overstretching the charging demands.
Im going to return the charger to them as it seems to be heating up rather a bit .
Anyhow ill keep you posted . This in no way detracts me from buying Bantam again . There allways will be issues with kit and this is the first time for me .

Well a quick update , i received a package today from flightech.
Opened it up and theyve replaced my charger with a brand new one. I can only presume that there was an overheating problem.
Im monitoring my new one and its not heating up like the other one was.
Its barely warm and its been charging for 21 minutes.
