I used SHYs tip, spot on!

SHY, X-6 wing does not fit properly with D4 or Losi wing mounts.

I think the wing mounts are the only part left in it's original form from the first 3 gear X-6 kit now aren't they?

nothing new with the x6 then with the wings lol

but like the MR DMS says its not a hard job and its better than some issues you could have.

my only thing withthe x6 is that ....its on a b4 base but runs losi shocks and rear drive shafts.... and thats what stops me runing one and mutaliating my b4 to make half an x6 and then try and find a set of losi shocks and drive shafts

oh and dont post that some of you run the ae stuff and it works.. if it works that that well then ellis would have it on his car.

But Ellis would not want different shocks on his 4wd to his 2wd, this would mean two lots of everything (springs, pistons, rebuilds, shock shafts etc) and two lots of differing settings for the same tracks (ie nationals). There IS nothing wrong with AE shocks but like in most teams we all follow the guy who is quickest (to copy him and his "dream" setups) in this case it is Ellis indeed and he uses Losi shocks. We can only use one set, we chooose to go the Losi route...

If Craggy for instance was to fit a "certain" part to his B4 to aid performance, the rest of the team would follow for sure, then so would all the paying public too, its just the nature of us racers.

He could have chose the route to fit his X5 with AE shocks instead, same differance but with years of experience from his days at Losi he felt more comfortable with Losi ones I guess. We have the same thing with the USA team, many of them at the moment have chose to run Kyosho shocks (all because BK is using them), but several drivers both here and across the water do still run AE shocks and they work just as good as they do on every B4 that is out there on the tracks today.

As for the driveshafts, its only a set of axles we use, dont even use Losi ones anymore, we have our own X=Factory axles - XF5660, thats all no complete driveshafts or anything

No, nor do the AE driveshafts (they are from your donor B4) - soory just seen the other eplies, I went away from the PC to serve whilst typing yopur reply)

Axles are only required for tracks that need more droop(yes most UK ones, I know) these then provide it. For indoor or US smooth dirt tracks they are not as often used.

All option parts, E-Speed hangers, E-Speed T-piece, Long axles etc are all "optional" both in requirement and supply (hangers are used a LOT here as you have said, motor tpiece not as important, axles we have already covered).

The list you have is about spot on, there are other bits that poeple use but they really are not neccasary (carbon motor plate, titanium front axles, K-factory front tower etc) they are all just luxuries that all would apply to the B4 just the same

But that goes for any car!

And you're a pimp as well Millzy, just admit it!

(considering your pink scheme I reckon you do actually work as one. How many callgirls you got?)

Bling it until it hurts!

no call girls, they ran away when i took them to vegas

losi pistions in ae shocks, how dare you lol.... do you need to drill the pistons to 556 or what have you? and are they a direct fit in the first place?

at the price i can get a b4 for , im sticking put

but the x6 dose look likea good car and its come on a lot- and my old x6 shell in pink will fit and look lush

just a shame everything dosnt come in the box, maybe an ellis edition could come out and shut me up lol

any way back on topic

i dont think the the wing mounts are a huge deal,
be worse if the gear box didnt line up

No we tend to only run standard un-drilled pistons

but the x6 dose look likea good car and its come on a lot- and my old x6 shell in pink will fit and look lush

Still got it??

Dont joke we seriuosly considered doing one at the end of last season when he won the nationals but knowing that the Squared was just around the corner put us off, there was no way we could release a"limited" edition and then just three or so months later a new car to replace it so we didnt, lets see how he gets on thsi seson.... Or maybe even a Tom or Phil edition

eeeuh, no....
except if he writes VERY slow.

Was discussing your mod with some friends yesterday and we concluded it was to much work.
Just put some BIG lexan discs under (prefer THICK lexan) and the base for the wing will be much bigger.
The screw thing is good though, might do that very soon.

Keep on writing then...

Millzy, how about a used X-6 all hopped up? Lots of them for sale on here...

I can tell you this: The B4 is great to drive, but the X-6 is very different. Much more like a 4WD + tons of steering = super fun!!! And when you try the B4 again after getting used to the X-6... you simply shelf it or sell it

All in all I think the best economical way of doing it is to sell a complete B4 and buy a complete used X-6.

Just my 5 cents

My left wing mount was also at an angle and didnt sit on the same level as the other side. I simply heated it up with a lighter untill it became slightly soft, bet it back and waited for it to cool. JOB DONE.............

Jamie.......

Great idea!!! Swap the lighter with a heat gun though, easier to control!

"Burning down the house"...

Ah, yes! I remember you Millzy from my early X-Factory days! So you HAD an X-6? Why did you sell it?
