simular... but its difficult to see what they've done as this does not look like a full carbon fibre chassis - almost looks like the sides are not carbon fibre?! Also it looks alot slimmer and a different shape to the original chassis.

Mine will be full carbon fibre, one peice from front bumper to rear pivot block, and will be the exact shape of the original X6.

Brilliant to see someone else has been playing with the idea of this - do you have the website or link to the website that you got the pictures from? Was it a review about it?

Thanks again, Jon!

Look forward to it Jon...

Trust me, it is somthing we have already looked at long and hard, and indeed our own manufacturer of our DMS Carbon Fibre Partz range (quite likely the same people you are talking to) has already asked us about the possability of doing "carbon tub" type chassis for numerous buggies that are out there today including our own X6, but as nice as they are and as good as they look, cost is VERY high, probably even more so if you have to have an alloy "rear block" machined too for the gearbox/rear bulkhead area.

Certainly "sounds" interesting, but I do fear the price could be too scary for many with minimal advantage (if any) over the original except for stunning looks.......but we can only look to see how viable it "may" prove to be.

I'm still developing at the mo.

As we speak the alloy peices are being made, these are the final peices of the puzzle before my chassis gets made.

I have modified my own current X6 already to accept saddle lipo cells and so will be looking to test this at the Coventry Outdoor Club in the next week or so to see how it all handles and what weight I need to use and where I need to use it.

Not many people have shown interest in having one of the carbon fibre chassis so I'm going it alone at the mo... once the final chassis is complete I will be posting some pics on here to show everyone how it looks. By that time I will have a good idea of cost and so if people want one I can discuss the possibillity of making more.

Then, keep your eyes peeled at the 2009 regional/national offroad events because if I can make it I'll be there with the new Carbon Fibre X6.

Yeah I had seen it, but mine will be a 1 peice tub chassis like the atomic carbon S2 and will keep the shape and original bodyshell of the X6... it wont look like some Ikea flat pack! lol

Thanks again, Jon!

Default chassis

I know a lot to do with this car is where the cells are positioned. just a thought mate, if i was to do a chassis for my x-6 i would do it so you could have the cells or cell on a chassis slider so you can move the battery as you would like it.
I thought of that setup in a x-6 as i own a old yokomo yr4-m2 and it has that design.

cheers
