Definately getdown to a club... there is a lot of people racing now who have picked it up again after racing many moons ago.

A lot has changed.... but a lot of it for the better, high capacity batteries mean no more worries about dumping. Brushless motor systems are pretty much maintenance free, so no more skimming and soldering brushes etc. If you start using Lipo batteries they to are almost maintenance free, no discharging and cycling required. 2.4ghz radios are now available which you "bind" to your car and mean no more crystal changes.

All the new stuff makes racing easier.

At a local club you will also find a lot of help and advice.

If your intrested look at the club sections... Bury is probably your nearest, and are running indoor meetings about once a month at the moment.

Southport runs weekly indoors on a sunday until april then we go outside. (Although the school hall is shut this coming sunday so looks like we might have a one off outdoor winter meeting).

Batley is only a short run down the 62 but I don't know their schedule, you would have to check out their website or section on here.
