Question lipo saddles

now for my thoughts on this lipo conversion.
i took my pred to the local track in cardiff today and was suprised by it.
even thore i ran a brushed trinity 8x2, getting on the power down the sraight was mentally fast. landing it off the jump gave the impresion that landing it on all "4"s was easier.
the down fall for me was that I came across alot of understeer, i think this was due to the battery weight. I decided to use a pair of lighter springs on the front and left the rears as standard. I did notice less understeer after this but then increased the toe-in to 2dgs. thats as far i went with that as i really need a good meeting to advance the set-up i have started.
any of you lot done this yet?

This is almost the same setup as mine,

http://www.oople.com/forums/showpost...2&postcount=72

Bear in mind I've got 70g of weight under each lipo, to get it to the minimum weight.

Only difference I have to that is 5.5 (blue springs) on the front and I haven't changed my rockers as a certain person still has my solid posts.

Only changes I now make are to the ride height.

Peter

what i did was make my own battery post that are made of delrin and are drilled and tapped on each side. they are 1.2" long and .200" in diameter. there the perfect hieght and thickness.. then i use m3 button head screws through the stock battery straps .. but you have to have the battery straps close to the centerline of the chassis so they do clear the body. you can see by the pics that the straps are almost parrallel with the center line of the chassis instead of at an angle like the kit setting. plus i moved the posts back 5mm from stock.

Default pred lipo conversion

hi jeff.

your lipo conversion looks great. when you run your pred, could you let me know if your front end has become light and is giving you the impression that it is always understeering.

hey migsy i am going to be adding wieght to it before i run it. i am going to have wieghts on the center spline to space the batteries away from the prop shaft. and i was going to add wieghts under the front shocks behind the gearbox in that open space. the great thing about lipo is you can add wieght where you want it.
