That's what happens to me sometimes, i've gone over the loop just in time for a last lap, but by the time I'm finishing that lap the next heat are walking onto the rostrum and the marshalls aren't always paying attention to my car by the time I finish my race. Also sometimes I have gone through for that extra lap, and by the time I finish the lap the computer has stopped counting and says 'race over' just before I cross the finish line. That makes me feel a little bit sad inside.

Think the rostum has alot of effect on the track.
I think the main cause of this at Coventry, is that the track gradually slopes away from the rostrum.

What size piping have you got?

If the diameter is too big, wheels will easily get stuck underneath.
