Can you use thicker CF and use a router to cut an indentation for the motor.

To be honest im not all that happy with the chassis so I am going back to the drawing board and starting again, although your idea does seem a good one which i Had not thought about, I dont really want to use a thicker chassis but I suppose I could go upto a 2.5mm. I am thinking about doing to chassis when im happy with them 1 in fibreglass and one in carbon fibre.

Im looking at the possibility of shifting wieght around the car by moving the batteries into a number of positions which would give a differant feel to the car every time.
As I race at www.stokercmcc.co.uk I was hoping to have the car finnished by January ready to start our new season but the way things are going its not looking good all work and no play .
