I installed the optional slipper spacer last week and went racing yesterday and today. I ran app 15 packs (carpet, 6.5 motor), then I checked the spacer and it showed signs of wear again! :-(
Are there any manufacturers that make a better quality part?

Regards,
J

I have not bought the hardened one what I have done is a little different but works a treat for me. No idea if anyone else has done it but will try my best to explain it.

If you notice on both halves of the gearbox casing there is a recess for a bearing, one is used one is not, the empty side is for changing from mm to rear motor, 3 or 4 gear etc. what I have done is put a bearing in both sides of the gear box case, which means the lay shaft gear now runs up against a bearing rather than the spacer, and then cut down the spacer to suit the gap between the 2 bearings.

I didn't have calipers at the time to measure the size of the spacer I ended up with but there is now no wear on the spacer as it runs on 2 bearings and the layshaft also now runs on a bearing instead on up against the spacers causing friction and causing the spacer to wear.

The spacer needs to be cut exact otherwise when everything is tightened up the bearings may push out of the gear cases.

Hope I have explained everything well enough, if not send me a pm and try to explain further.

I have had trouble with with the slipper since the day I got the car (one of he first batch) and only since doing this have I got a slipper I can tighten and adjust properly and now is fantastic why TD haven't done the same maybe there is something I'm missing but it works for me.

Mark

I think exotek make one but contact durango first. Maybe you have something else thats not right and even if it shows wear doesn't mean its not right.
If it starts effecting the slipper etc then its a problem

Thanks for your input, guys!
The conversion with the extra bearing sounds like a good idea to me...
For now the slipper is still working as it should but I guess the new spacer won't do its job very long.

Default Dex 210 wear problems tough stuff

Mine had worn and collapsed and was running on one bearing
For about a month i reckon i noticed a wobble and presumed it was this spacer wearing , no one local had one in stock
This thread made me check properly and i was amazed it had even been running
fitted the upgrade part and replaced the bearing
It had collapsed leaving only the shells
Tough cars these 210s sweet as now

i would urge any one else to check mine was almost about to wreck the gearbox i reckon
pictured is the old and new spacer and a bearing shell
the old spacers edges were ragged the bearing was long gone
