I had a scar on my hand for ages where Jimmys car burned me at Tiverton a few years ago, as I was about to put his car down for the final it suffered interference, and the rear tyre tore into my hand. It was painful for quite a while! Yuk, dirty tyre burn.

ha you girls should try marshaling the 8th

to be fair if no one is looking I would rev to get attention, but always break ASAP as to not harm anyone.

In the 8th I will not pick a car up thats revving I just stand there until they stop , and so do a lot of people if they want to come and see me after thats fine

Now then, is that just an incentive to yourself to be the best marshal?

Not that its right to rev while being marshalled but why dont you all just bring a pair of gloves ? Its what the majority do for rallycross ...

Actually, i'm with Chris on this one.

I have 2 scars on one of my fingers that was from a car tyre that was spinning when it got into contact with my finger.

i still have a scar on my hand from about 10years ago from schuey blues i think it should be a penalty offense for revving and abusing marshalls providing the marshall was seen to be aware and atempting to marshall

Go to the nook then. You have to stand in a steel cage to marshall the crossover.

I always marshal how I expect to be marshalled myself.
Unfortunately a lot of the ohter drivers don't seem to think in the same way.

I've had my thumb melted on spur gear by drivers reving cars up in the past, and also had some nice straight line tatoo's burnt into my arm by a tyre as someone throttled up when the tyres were touching my arm.

In the past (in TC's) I have just put the car back on the side of the track upside down when marshalling has ended up in me being injured by someone throttling up. Ok I got some flack from the driver after, but if he can be so ignorant as to do this then I can't be bothered to marshal them properly.

Im with most people here, drivers are to impatiant (i am as well, im terrible for it) but marshalls just dont seem to care, i dont pick up cars that are revving but when people are shouting at you when your moving towards there car is does get to you. At shields yesterday i was on point 1 for qualy (for people who wernt there, it was in the middle of a corner table top where the marshal had to be low so not to obstruct the apex of the orner behind them). Some one crashed behind me, the marshal that was closest wasnt paying attention so the driver complained at me for being sat down Im not exactly fast due to my physical fittness but i try my hardest and have sustained slight injuries from just getting to cars just to make sure there back on the track (at shields i tripped on on of the track markings and caught my knee on the wodden peg holding it up and put a nice gash in it ).

But if anyone has any tips for me then im all ears aslong as they do the same for me, i could have won my final yesterday mainly if i didnt crash but if the marshal was paying attention then i woud have stood a better chance.

rant over lol

Whatever you like..

Gloves seem a perfectly sensible idea to me .. Not that i'm insulting peoples intelligence that it even needs to be suggested..

I have scars too, worst one is from foam tyres when we used to use tractite.. yowser, it took ages to heal .. if only i'd have been wearing gloves.

Ditto, if a car is on its roof and is on full throttle (through choice) then i just stand by it until the driver lifts off the throttle, this is one thing i have noticed in off road. I really dont know why people do it
