yeah its all a matter of gearing.. and a combo of brush and spring i would suggest running silver brushes and the silver spring on the pos. and gold spring on the neg. perfect starting point if it gets too hott run gold/gold on the springs. but start out small on the pinion gear.

i always ended up running my timing at 24 degrees but only with the alum. end bell and the spring combo was gold pos. and gold neg. but i also ran 9x4 wind and it is ballistic.

I have a hard time believing a 9 turn in a 4wd with that much timing lasted more than 3 minutes

well it actually gave me 7min of runtime.. its all in how you drive it and throttle control also all the power was only used on the striaghtaways and i also had very high run time sec. on my battery packs. its all in how you tune your motors that was my job, i used to work for teambrood racing i can easily get my motor to run a 5 min race with even higher timing if i wanted to..

to be on the safe side lewis at extreme rc does a nice range of heatsinks for the pred that will keep things very much on the safe side. temp doesnt seem to much of a problem as long as your vents are cut out to allow air flow through. the pred has a very free and lightweight drive system so milder motors can be used to make the car easier to drive whilst still being as quick as everyone else

I ran mine like that Rich for a few meetings, i sort of rebuilt the motor as i did when racing on road. It was only after a few meetings that i realised why i was killing brushes so quick

Kit setting actually feels nicer off road, it gives the car more torque and feel lower down the powerband

well ill admit i found the car very hard to handle, i dont suppose it helped with a dodgy servo horn, but found it rapid in a straight line but really twitchy on the front end in the infield, can some one tell me what effect the 3 rubber o rings have on the braking please i was running one then added another but didnt notice any difference,
thanks

I think the more rubber O rings there are the more brakes you get. Dont quote me on that though lol. Best to ask one of the team drivers. Matt or andy
Sorry to hear you found the car hard to handle.

I might try that on the S4 and see if it gives more brakes
