I used to run either 22.5wt or 25wt AE oils in the rear with stock pistons and 37.5wt to 40wt AE oils front with stock pistons.
Remember the shock inclination angle has a significant effect on damping feel. I am about to post revised setup sheets for the big bores using some of Nick's tapered pistons (slightly different damping to the last one which seems to suit more people better). Hope that helps as a starting point. |

settled on 25wgt asso oil in the rear and 35wgt asso oil in the front, i may well go up slightly in the front as it felt a bit underdamped but only just, good news was the car was great today very easy to drive fast and jumped well over the double jumps, TQ'd the first round overdrove the second and was on pace for TQ in the 3rd round when the car came to a halt, it seems maybe the receiver got hot and shut down, i repositioned it and never had the problem again, final should of been a good event with several of us on similar pace, unfortunately i drove into someone elses accident on the first corner which put me last and way behind the leader who got a clean get away, i got into a rhythm and managed to reel in everyone up to second but 1st was way ahead by this point, bit dissapointed as i think i had the pace today for the win but a good result considering the ground i had to catch up.

I find the kit springs to soft, especially on Astro.
I use Losi Blacks on the front & Kyosho gold on the rear, or if the track is slippery I go down to a Losi white on the rear & Losi blue on the front. Hope this helps. |

what ride height is preferred for dirt tracks small tight a few small to med jumps surface will be damp dirt at a guess we do what we can to roll it flat before each meeting and get rid of any excess water but some corners remain damp no matter what, we throw down sawdust as much as possible to try and dry out the really wet sections but thats it, off line the dirt resembles the marbles seen on F1 tracks where the loose surface gets swept to one side so its essential to stay on line, kit set up seems not bad but any suggestions to try out appreciated, sorry not quite kit changed rear to 3 deg rear toe in
