Cool, I think I'm going to stay with the cells across the chassis just save any messing around.
I'm racing it this weekend at the ME regionals on grass, so I'll let you all know how it goes.

Thanks for the advice dudes and dudettes! Muchly appreciated.

Telboy, if you run LiPo straight across the 4-cell slot all is good because the LiPo is so light. But if you run 6 cells across, she wallows about like a fat pig in a bog, and I certainly don't like seeing one of our great-handling cars doing that. The strength of The New Math is cornering -- you have a problem bumping into the back of cars you're about to pass -- and 6 across wrecks the car's advantage. May as well have a rear motor dinosaur.

One of the world's best drivers, Paul LeMieux, struggled mightly with it all weekend at Milwaukee last December. He did win 19-T and took 3rd in Mod behind Cavalieri & Kinwald (I think that was the result -- off the top of my head) but worked at it all weekend, never did really get the car right, and simply drove the wheels off it. My pit was between Kinwald and LeMieux, and I watched Paul changing things radically with every pack. Meanwhile Kinwald, with LiPo across the back, cruised...

Is a bit of soldering all that much to get a perfect car???

Done it, I split the cells to 3-1-2 format.

Like you say chazz, for the sake of a bit of soldering its worth doing surely.

I'll take it on the park tomorrow for a blast round.

Thanks,

Haha, Unfortunately Chazz, I've got to run those stickies.

It was just a quick shell I knocked up for myself, I don't spend much time on my own shells as its all spent on everyone elses.

Don't think it will look like that on sunday evening though!!

JC stickies, because I haven't got enough larger size hot bodies stickies.
Otherwise I'd have put those on....oh, and I haven't got any X-6 ones.

E-mail me anway. We ought to be able to figure out some way to get the wing of that good-looking car to say, "X - 6."

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Raced the car (X6) today at the ME regional....awesome!

Everyone was commenting on how well the car looked on the track and how much corner speed it was carrying. Superb.

I just can't beleive how good it handled once I'd got a spring setting that i liked, it was just planted.

It was the only X-6 there and I managed to qualify 7th in the A final (my first ever), and managed a 2nd overall in round 3...against some top drivers too, Nathan Waters, Simon Moss, James Helliwell etc.

The final ended after 2 laps though when I made a mistake, then got collected by the next car along, which broke the rear wishbone.

But, wow. It is an awesome car and has huge amounts of grip through the turns.

The only thing I was lacking was high speed front end grip. I didn't really have too much of a mess around with washers and camber link length etc. so will have a mess around next week at Oswestry.
Otherwise, through all the mid-low speed corners it was very good.
