haha, no worries, I actually ordered this car after the other TWO I ordered since they weren't coming quickly enough! I'd certainly not have raced it this weekend as the original ones haven't come yet.

haha, the flames are by Tels Shells and Adam Skelding changed Tamiya Durga down the side to read 'Tamiya Burga'
Shell sadly got a bit of a dent when I wiped the front corner off on an immovable object - maybe I can incorporate that into the paint scheme when I get round to painting it this week tho

Welcome to the world of parcel farce. Someone should disband it, what a terrible and dishonest company it is. I have been in the house before when they posted a 'you weren't home' thing thru the door - WE WERE IN and went outside and they didn't even have the parcel.. they saved weight by bringing only the card.. haha..
Also been in when they said they had tried to deliver - but never came.

We had no parcels for a week a couple of weeks back and I was waiting for stuff.. then on a SUNDAY (we dont get sunday deliverys) they left a card saying they had tried to deliver 6 parcels. on a sunday!
Went to pick up the parcels and there were only 5!! they lost one!. It's a shell and spur from demon racing - and I've still not got it.

So yeah, rubbish.

They hammer me everytime and i always end up with my package delayed!
Though, i buy something from Japan, have it shipped EMS and no probs!
I just hope my Durga gets here with no probs!

Well we got ours running last night. The red-sponge issue my buddy was having was fixed by moving the thrust bearing to it's proper side...

This car is amazingly smooth. It also likes to swap ends so much quicker than almost any other 2-diff locked-center 4WD car I've driven. Kinda reminds me of how my old Tamiya Vanquish (plastic Avante) drives with it's center ball-diff & front/rear planetary diffs. Thus far I've only driven the car on tarmac and managed some decorative rock (ballast) for about 3 seconds, but it seems far more capable than any sub $300 4WD off-roader on the market.

PS: I thought the body looked really odd at first, but once you get it to sit all the way down on the posts, it looks very mean...

Well since I won't be getting a shock tower from tamiya anytime soon, I made my own. Not pretty but functional. I should have dyed it black, maybe later this week. Is anybody running a really hot motor without the slipper? I'm wondering if the belts can handle more than the Novak 10.5 I'm currently running, maybe a 10 double. Would like to have more speed for Toys for Tots race this weekend.

models online hongkong have a range of durga spares in that include slipper one way shock towers and all the basics you may need

i raced mine a few weeks back with a novak 5.5 in no problems with the drivetrain but it was a pig to drive

the car has totally transformed now it has the oneway slipper hop up steering front and rear uprights and the 501x shocks on

the car now feels like a 501 only more flexible and im happy with how progress is going will do more testing over the xmas holidays

That's what you think

The only real difference between a hopped-up db01 and a 501 will be the weight distribution, and seeing that most 501 owners have set-ups in which the left-right balance is out by quite a bit, then it's likely that the db01 will be just as well balanced than the 501, if not better.

Then there's the improved reliability factor from having a car with a sealed drivetrain.

I personally believe that overall, the db01 will be a better car than the 501

I got mine, I believe it is the TA05 of the buggy world, seen by most as a toy, known to a few as a bloody good ar and far FAR better value for money!

Glad you got it at long last DCM. Has jimmy's server been down since last night. I thought the end of the world as we know it had come!!
Special thanks for 94eg for helping me.

I don't know if this is the place I should ask this but its for the Durga so!!! When I got my Spektrum it came with 2 sevo's One is marked Z590 and the other Z270. I cant find any information about them so I don't know which one to use in the Durga. Also would anybody know what servo saver would be best I know there is a difference from the Futabo and the Acoms for example.

I never used any of the Spektums in my road car because I bought a Bluebird HS MG

Does it have any specs on the Spektrum website? not sure what sort of spline they have but I would assume its one of the main two which are provided in the kit, just try pushing the adaptors on and it should maybe become obvious. The ko/acoms/Sanwa one was a tight fit on my Sanwa servo but that's a good thing.

All it says on the Spektrum site is Z270 Standard Race Servo, Z590 Hi-Torque Race Servo. I guess the best one would be the Z590 for a buggy. It also fits on the Acoms part. Wont fit on the Futabo which I thought was the one it should have

So do I have to use both the small servo saver rings marked BM16 AND the large one BM17? how did you get the silver ones on top of each other?

If it helps at all the Spektrum servos are the same as the JR servos that have the same part numbers. So they will take a JR spline if one is available (23 teeth, same as Acoms/KO/Sanwa).

The Z590 is faster and more torquey than the Z270 so it should be the better choice.
