Hello again all,
finally placed my order from stell and soooo glad that those who have reported haven't turned round and said its a POS!

Got most of the parts for the 501X shocks too however NO ONE seems to have 9404701 any suggestions to try?

Cheers

Wayne

They are not shown in my manual for some reason (bender posted a pic of this in post 150)

The items you are talking about are on instruction Item 5 on page 6. you will see it shows A9 and a message saying "note direction" And the other end is shown on item 9 page 7 which also shows A9 as an insert with a note direction message. I would have missed these but for another post warning about them

My diff bolts do stick through the nuts but not by much. I will loosen then back but set the diffs as per the instructions DCM gave me.

I just realized that the diff spring is on the side with the nut. This means that the screw always sits in the exact same place. It's the nut that moves in & out as you tighten the diff because it compresses the spring. This means messing with the diff tension won't help...

Can anyone point me to a decent set of shocks for this? I not having luck on the 501 shocks and just want a good set of dampers!
Ive seen the hop up DF03 dampers, but im not sure what kid of quality they would be!

I wouldnt bother with the df03 shocks, maybe look out for some Associated B4 shocks?

I have the DF03 shocks on my 'ultimate impact' (coming soon, haha) but have 501X pistons and shafts in them to make them work nicely.

if you do go the DF-03 shocks, buy the two hole and three hole TRF damper pistons for the touring cars, they go right on.

Do you have a 2wd buggy?

If you do then I'd suggest to use the same shocks as your 2wd that way you'll have less parts / springs to buy.

Otherwise, the Kyosho, 501, AE, and Losi shocks are all good.

do the 501x spring sets fit into the DF03 as well as the CVA shock cylinders?

will it be too tight?

Guys, thanks to all for the input. I dont run a 2wd, the Durga will be my intro to off road racing after quite a break from on road really.
I do have a couple of T3 trucks, so im wondering whether to go with the AE shocks for now, there not the teflon top danglies, but may be better than the DB01's for now till i can bag a set of Factory Team dampers maybe!

if you go for the AE ones, they are just s good as the TRF ones, but you will need a set off a B4.

you mean the kit shocks? I wouldnt have thought so, the rear shocks are large diameter. The 501X springs fit on the DF03 hop up shocks though.

it will be nice since the 501 springs will fit into the df03 shocks cos i feel that those springs are better than the df03 ones....correct me if i'm wrong cos i don't have any 501 springs to test on my df03 alu shocks....

wouldn't risk buying if i can't be sure whether they will fit

the cva does look too fat to fit in though...i think

haha, I'm not that quick sadly. it takes about 6 hours to paint a shell so if I get home and have tea that takes me to about 8 - or have exercise (which I need since I have a medical next monday haha) then we're looking 930ish before I can do anything creative-

I was up till nearly 4am last night and I didn't even get onto the Durga stuff.

I want to give it another race preferably - or a side by side race with paul rotheram on the sticks against the 501X to get some comparitive lap times.. which isn't easy as my oneway hasn't come yet or the slipper. I can put the build online but I hate doing a half-job. I wish I'd got the car sooner

Jimmy, I feel so bad. I would have gladly sent mine down to you a few wks sooner. You could have replaced it when your's came. I didn't need it that quick its just once her indoors looked favorably on me getting the car I went for it. We were at the hotel across the road from the model shop that had stocks so!!!!. Why did none of you guys even hint to me Jimmy's need is greater than mine!!
