Another good meeting, if a little long
![]() Petit is all about the show and there was certainly plenty of that all weekend so well done to all involved. Not sure I will be doing Petit again next year though. |

Yep it was a good meeting.
Personally, overall happy with how I went on both days. But there were a few things that I felt let the event down. The PA for the week-end was very poor, could hear very little of what was being said in the pits or on the rostrum. The track was a fair layout, apart from the blue jump, which was more of an obstacle. From all the 'talk' was expecting more of a changeling layout, but it was a good track to race and watch racing on. The last one was the commentary, which was hit and miss. The actual commentary on an individual race was very good. Hats off to the commentators as it's a difficult job. But not every heat was commentated on. This in my opinion made it unfair. With out the commentary it can be difficult to know if your faster / lapping a car or both on the same pace. There's great potential in the venue. It could be a great location for future events. It was great again to see such a good turnout for an electric off-road event so early in the new year. With so many drivers and manufactures present (including shops), it really proves that 1/10 off-road is growing again. MiCk B. :-)

Have to agree with the comments you have made there Mick it would have been nice for all the races to have been commentated so that if you had issues in practice and got a bad seeding then it could have helped. The system at Maritime was great for that as you could hear the system say car x is about to be lapped or the commentator would announce this. The PA was very bad and I could not work out what the voice on the computer was saying regarding the heat number at all over the weekend and really felt for Nicholas as it was really bad trying to understand him whilst doing the raffle. I also think that as we had BBK Software actually running the meeting that the information to the racers would be much better i.e. Wifi, extra race info screens dotted around the circuit or even the racing projected at a white wall like they do at the Neo event.

fantastic venue, good organisers behind it, great raffle, good pits, massive breakfast rolls, great carpet, superb space, plenty warm enough, nice people involved, brilliant location, top racing, crap PA system, useless refereeing, disappointing track, unfair amounts of pre-practice, rubbish jumps, lot of "talk"..... 7.5 out of 10

hello Everybody,
Many thanks to all for coming and enjoyed the weekend. BIG BIG thanks to John and Ardent crew and volunteers on Friday evening to build the track. I will develop soon my thanks in other post soon on Petitrc website. About "lots of talk" I would like to tell you that I am VERY disappointed of some of you (1st time in 3 edition in England) about 2 points: - On Saturday evening I trust all of you and let you to take your Raffle products with your ticket and let also big products on the table. When all of you went out, I saw that some of big Raffles products disappeared: - 2 Speedpassion motors - 2 Speedpassion speedo - 3 Acorn Racing batteries Also I ordered 190 tshirts with an extra of 30 included and some of drivers told me that they didn't get 1!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() I had trust of Everybody..... Just believe that was an accident, a mistake for raffles products. Good Evening. PS: if you don't get your tshirt, please contact me by email only. Thank you PS2: And for your info the race isn' named "Petit" but "PETITRC Race" ![]()

Did 2wd on sat, what a great venue! wish it was closer to home
![]() This said, the total lack of refereeing combined with some realy crap driving after marsheling or a mistake. There seemed to be no one taking charge of the start line or the track with cars every were, there is no point going when your number is called if the last car to go is put in front of yours ![]() the track flowed well apart from the big jump, may have been better in 4wd, but for 2wd it was just to steep and narrow, not the incredible, take your breth away track we read about on petit...sorry Nicolas ![]() practice on thursday friday ![]() as for the tee shirts, raffle prizes ![]()

I did think it was a bit strange the way the raffle worked on Saturday relying 100% on trust. I feel the RC crowd is the most honest Ive ever met so its sad to think there are theives about

I just want to Say thanks to all the people who helped at "PETITRC"
![]() I thought the event was overall a success, Driving standards was generally very good, there is always the odd bad driver who thought an Agricultural race meant driving like a tractor ploughing through a field. But i thought that given the track was flat there was not too many incidents. I was sorry we had to leave early and miss the prize presentation Sunday but we had a long journey home and was very tired. The only thing i would criticise was the practice days on Thursday and Friday. I would say no problem to have practice as long as it publicised when the race date was released. It was too late for our guys to arrange time to practice and we found it very difficult getting a set up on the non standard carpet. I look forward to a 2012 event and hope for more XL T shirts without any team names on as we cant wear ours ![]() Oh and Thanks to John for arranging warm weather. it was 20 degrees warmer than our last visit and much more pleasant. ![]() |

![]() This was my first big meeting... I thought it was run well in a great location. And I enjoyed every minute (apart from the getting up early part!) The only gripe I have is the practice some others got in beforehand on the new carpet. It would have been nice if everyone had started off on an even keel. |

4 people and 8 hours and the track now looks like this :-)
Rather sad really, I enjoyed the buggies. Who's for filling it with dirt and having a permanent Off-Road indoor dirt track? ![]() |

I didn't mean any disrespect when the first thing I said was - cool venue, should be filled with dirt.

You're right that was the first thing you said to me Jimmy :-), ironically the first thing we had to do was clear dirt out when we moved in :-). Did any of you notice the unit next door? If there is enough interest then the plan would be to rent that unit too and build a dirt track. We already have the pitting space, cafe, goats and "kind of" toilets, we just tap a doorway through and job done. Hosting the PetitRC Race got us on the map in the buggy world, now I want to see the support so I can justify the beans and convince the landlord :-)
