front end on mine is tight, you only need to back the wheel nuts off a little. Otherwise you will need to make a bearing spacer.

if the rumours are true, this is because all molds have been created from reverse-moulding original Ultima RB5 parts... sure cuts R&D costs down a lot and savings can be passed down to the consumers (ahem)

Any experienced racer have raced their madrat/xpros agains the benchmark B4 and XXX-Cr's? Would you mind sharing your impression about the cars? And now the $100 question - what is needed on the pro version to bring it to B4-level as the FT B4 is only a few quids more?

Thanks!

Just read all the threads about it under the Ansmann section. You will clearly see that it is a good car.

This and all our other cars are NOT "bad cars" Kirby.

Nothing wrong with it at all mate, this was my car at Lee's CML Raceway having literally built it to kit spec, links, shock oil everything and it went round pretty good!

Booooooooooreed of reading about how it's an RB-5 clone etc etc.

The car shares a few things with the XXX, B4 and RB-5 so make of it what you want, they're all copies of each-other to a degree. Any rear motored 2wd buggy is going to have pretty similar geometry and similar looking parts.

I am really pleased with how the car went first time out, completely kit standard and it didn't have any nasty characteristics or feel strange - really seemed to go well and that's without adjusting anything!

The X-Pro is a nice kit, the shocks are very well made indeed plus obviously it has bearings, graphite parts and lots of pretty Green bits :-)

I got a 7.5 in mine currently.

Re: reverse moulding, thats fine, but the manuals diagrams have been taken off of CAD drawings, so come on, lets just give it a break.... or should we say, hay, the RB5 is very close to a Losi.... the D4 is very similar to the B44 and the BMax etc... give it a break.

well what I've read is, it goes a bit further than this as RB5 plastic parts (and some tranny ones) are a direct bolt-on replacement in case you can't get the official ansmann parts

So - to those of you who run both cars (ie ansmann and rb5) , is this the same car (barring the metal bits and some details obviously) or not? Thanks!

Paul
