I ran without body posts - but I wasn't aware how un-fitting the shell was until I'd already built the car without posts. The shell stayed on absolutely fine with velcro but I'd prefer to have the rear posts on than not.

I ran my 501X saddle packs in the car fine

Wow.....sorry for my mistake! I stupidly assumed that a function of forums was for those who are unsure to ask questions.........and I am glad I did ask, as I have had replies contrary to yours which say saddle packs do fit.

They are black, well, dark gun metal. The shocks feel a lot better than with the DF03 springs on their shocks (same shocks). The DF03 springs are much harder than the Durga springs.

Not sure about that Jimmy, I use the original DF03 spring tuning kit (black, gold, and silver colours) and I think the Durga springs are the black springs from that kit - they certainly feel the same to me

The shocks are identical - they use different rod ends on the bottom of the rear shocks but that's all. And the springs of course.. I built one shock for the review then nicked and used the ones off the Keen Hawk with the durga springs - to save time!

Bender, when I say df03 I mean df03 kit springs - which are silver and much harder than the black ones. The black ones are a lot more suited to 'good handling' I think. The shocks felt good right away with the durga (black df03) springs.
I couldn't get the damping hard enough with the silvers.

the df03 springs that came in the kit were to hard for use, I used some df02 springs originaly, but if the durga ones re softer, that should be good

Default HELP

I don't know what Ive done wrong here. I'm at the stage of attaching the rear arms and drive shafts. You have to put a couple of red spacer things in each dif end before the drive shaft goes in. On the side where the dif nut is you cant get 2 spacers in. Well you can but that forces the drive shaft so far the car sits up and there is no play its so tight. The other side where the screw is is no problem. I looked in the dif ends of the front and they seem to be the same. Plenty room in one side but none in the other. These stupid black plastic washers(A15) are a joke. Ive already lost one. Wish I could examine a car already built. When is the review to be posted? DCM have you got yours yet?

How can I talk to somone who has made one up. I dont want to post my phone number

Surely itll be just one spacer in each drive end? Its only there to eliminate slop i think? Yes packing it too tight will bind up the float in the shaft, so maybe just go with one spacer inserted in each output!

the red spacers are no problem, there shouldn't really be any play in either shaft so if there is on one side that doesn't sound quite right? I don't have mine here but maybe there is a slight ammount of play? anyone?

Either way it's no problem really - better than losing a drive shaft! for the best performance get some CVD type drive shafts.

Which spacer did you lose?

the plastic spacers can be replaced with an ordinary spacer.

The red neoprene spacers keep the driveshafts in the drive cups at the wheel end to stop them popping out.

Yes I know why the spacers are there Its just that the instructions show 2 red neoprene spacers in each side (for front and back) at the inboard end so unless Ive assembled the diffs wrong there is no way 2 will fit in the side where the nut is. If nobody else has had a problem I must have assembled something wrong I would guess.

Jimmy it was one of the A15 ones I lost

you have the screw and thrust race in one side- and the spring and nut in the other right? are you sure you have them in the correct out drive? I think the screw should be on the left hand side at the rear. have a look in the manual tho.. if there isn't enough room to push the out drive in there then something is wrong.. it should be roughly the same both sides and the dog bone should be touching the foam when assembled.

screw and thrust in through the long outdrive, spring, nut retainer and nut in the short side.

I would take apart the diff and double check as my red spacers went in no probs with plenty of room. The only problem i had were the two pieces that hide/seal the belts .
They are not shown in my manual for some reason (bender posted a pic of this in post 150)

I had the exact same problem when assembling the rear suspension on my friends Durga. He built the Diffs, so I cannot comment on "WHY" this is the case. We ended up only using 1 red sponge on the spring-n-nut side to keep the free-play similar from left to right. It still had more "bind" on that side, but I didn't want to risk it running no sponges on that side.

The really odd thing is that this was only a problem in the rear.

***edit*** I would wager the diffs are simply overly tight causing the long screw to stick out too far through the nut. I did notice my friend has his diffs WAY too tight. He's too lazy to fix it though... <_<

just a note, on all my ta05 ars, the diff screw barely protrudes from the nut, you have the option of really tightening the screw down, but you really don't need to.
