Ok, am missing something here, have just installed all the electrics and the steering linkage fouls badly on the servo itself, basically I can't turn right! I'd think my servo was too far forwards but I am not spacing it forwards at all, and there's absolutely no way the esc would fit in behind it if it was any further back at all??

Also, the servo horn would foul the steering assembly anyway on right lock!?

I am using a Savox SC1258, help anyone!?

Depends on the servo horn you run Dave. I run a losi alloy one on my futaba servo and all is fine. However, a slight amount of dremelling is required to the right hand side of the assembly for some configurations

Doesn't stop the problem of the ball joint at the top of the pic fouling the actual servo though sadly mate, no matter what servo horn. Has anyone else used the savox, am wondering if the servo sticks out more at the front than other ones?

You want to use a different servo horn so that the ball joint faces the other way and is closer to the servo.

I have a Savox going into a CR2 soon. Will try to get a picture up but it may not be until next week.

Look at Ashley's car pics in post #304 - it's a savox 1251 servo but he seems to have used a taller servo arm to get clearance

Dave do you mean the end of the thread of the ball stud is fouling on the top brace bit of the steering rack where the bearings sit????

Yeah, the car end, the ball joint connected to the servo saver, there's no space at all for ball cup to go over the stud without fouling the servo! Haven't checked the servo horn end, think it'll go on ok and a dremel would sort the fouling of the horn against the link! Can't help feeling I've got something wrong though that the servo is too far forwards somehow!?

Have compared the savox to a futaba and sanwa, and it does look like savox ones sit a bit forwards compared to them (eg the lugs are a little further back).

Dave i think you have the wrong ball stud in there and get rid of the washer you should be able to get it on then.

Don't think I'm explaining it well!! My major problem is the end at the top of the picture, connected to the arm on the servo saver. At that end there's about 1mm clearance between the ball stud and the main servo body, so no matter what angle I try to set the link up at I won't be able to turn right as the ball cup just hits the side of the servo up at the top of the picture! I don't think any change to the servo horn or ball stud at that end will help!

Am I using the right servo mounts?

Can your electrics move any further backward? im just thinking you could possibly dremel the servo holders down and re drill the holes to gain the extra space needed, but youd have to be able to move the servo backward more?

Yep B4 mounts!

Can't really move the electrics back at all, though I could maybe squeeze the receiver over more or on it's side, and then centralise the esc more. If I can avoid the battery posts I can move it back a bit more then.

Tbh I think I need to try other servo's, and go low profile just to keep the space easy! I could then move the servo back by dremelling the servo mount, though I'd likely cock it up!!

May have a servo or 2 for sale soon!!
