Think most the guys in the vid are running 7.5-10.5 motors. Apparently 8.5 seems to be about right, and that is the proposed motor limit we were going to impose on the open meeting later on in the year. Basically all those cars in the vid are box stock, and are all running kit tyres. Everyones trying to keep it standard and put the emphasis on the racing, but its inevitable in time that will change. For the time being its crazy fun, and im only watching! Although iv just ordered mine and will be there next week, to out-doughnut wezzer on the tabletop, watch out mate!

My missus suggested we walk off our big dinner the other night. I agreed as long as I could drive the sc10 at the same time hehe. so I drove it for 20 mins around the block through town

it needs little lights on it now...

That vid is ace. Shame its a bit too far for me to go for a club meeting.
I'm going to have to get down to mansfield some time with mine.

Doubt it very much, seen a few vids of 2 of them racing at the PDA, and various others, think its just that ours is more well known on this forum, and most the people racing them at our club are registered on this forum.

Is it suitable to use Araldite to fill in the voids in the rear wheels to stop the drivepins chewing them up or do I need something more "specialist"?

To strengthen the rear wheel pin, put a longer wheel pin in (a longer one, see Nortech), and then cut one of the wheels so the pin can overhang the slot. You will have to thread/stud lock the pin in but this should make them much stronger.

i have installed longer pins in mine and it seem to do the trick although it would appear that they still get a little twist in them so for my next set i will do the Araldite/chemical metal trick and fill the voids, i may even fill the one pin slot too as you only really need the one

yeah I thought there would be a nip of play. When removing our old pins it took the tools. the new longer pins just fell into the holes so would probably be 0.1mm thicker to take that slack out.

(I have the same pins as Wezzer)

Default Rear wheel fixings

Yeah but essentially these solutions are all workarounds (or bodges, call them what you will). It would be better if Associated just accepted there is an issue with trying to drive such a large wheel with such piddly pin and just rejigged the whole stub/wheel mating area. Hey, I can but hope...

It must be the plastic used, as the T4 has no issues unless the wheel nuts loosen.

i stripped one wheel because the wheel nut loosend, not because of the plastic or because the pin was too short etc i opted to put longer pins in mine because i could and because we run on very high grip carpet and big jumps and big motors it all just making things stronger,,,,, not really bodging lol
to be honest if i could be arsed to set my slipper properly and checked me nuts ( insert sarcastic comment here ) more often i wouldnt of stripped my pin
if this is the only problem with the kits then AE have done a good job as far as i am concerned.

I reckon these trucks were never designed to run 7.5 etc as you can see by the lack of rear grip (fun I agree) but I think they were designed with 13.5 in mind? Correct me if I'm wrong but don't think there would be wheel issues then.

Hey guys, Im hopefully soon to be a new SC10 Owner-Been wanting one for so long!.. Are there any aftermerket wheels/tyres avaliable.. I have seen the Proline Bow-Tie.. but out of stock, as I would mainly be running it on hard dirt-Loose top.. as I bet the stock one's wouldnt be great on that. And, What spares should I try to get too.. No seen many on that-So whether that's because there not breaking.. but is there anything I need to look for like the wheel pin issue ect... Thanks guys!

CML have stock on them so cant see any issue in getting some.
they work very well on loose/dusty surfaces too
