Budgio, you can get the slipper from

www.TamiyaShop.ch
Or rc champ I think has them too
Let us know if you manage to track down the cvd. Not found anywhere that has them yet!

Does anyone know where I can get the damper parts bag for the 501X (9404701)
Can't find anywhere with stock

BSR How did she go??

Cheers

Well i caved on buying a 501x, so my beloved bought me one of these for Xmas.
Ive got it from Stella and frankly cant wait. I will now start racing once more with this one.
Ill have to read through where to bag some of the hop up parts, but id also like to get hold of the 501 dampers, carbon towers and CVD's.
Oh yeah a slipper too.
Now i have an excuse to take a break from Star Wars studio replicas lol.
Any painters here able to pull off a Satoshi shell for me?

Well - I'm truly knackered. it's past 2am and I've got the Durga ready to race tomorrow...... minus shell so I'm gonna have to run clear which is a shame. I'm taking my 501X and all the spares for that also just in case.

I decided to go for tame power- a 14x2 peak vantage, since I don't have a slipper yet.

I only got the car on friday night so Im quite pleased to have it more or less done already (including all the photos and writing, of course)

It's looking good for a bumper christmas of reviews and articles

Will do! they have internet here, cool!

I was already advised that digital cameras cause interference, which more or less kills my entire website - but luckily I have the HB guys on my side

I ran the car in practice, once I got the transmitter set up and learned how to drive a car without a one way, it was quite good. the 14x2 is fast enough in here I think - theres not much to test the car but I'll try my 501X shocks on it later. So far it handles pretty well but I'm in he top heat of 4WD so I don't think I'll be winning any heats

btw Steve, get a screw kit.

lol - nah! you know me steve, I need to go get outdoor action photos and bling photos which take a while (especially when it's raining all the time!)

First run was a wash out - coming out of a corner I just lost all the power so I just let go of the throttle incase I damaged something. Turned out the motor had moved is all - I'd used the wrong washers for the motor screws. The spur survived intact so I just put it back together properly this time.

Landing off the big jump isn't great, the car bounces a bit - i'll try the 501X shocks in a bit.

the bouncing is due to the plastic shocks.... motor moving... you bad BAD man roflol, is the spur gear the same size as B4's
Do the action shots later Jim, I need to know what I got coming lol.

DCM - the car comes with a 91t spur gear, and the 87 AE spur will fit too. I don't think the original 96T 501x spur will fit - I think it would rub on the chassis.

My car is built now minus electrics, but I probably won't get to run it until next year

So this 91T spur gear is another alternative for 501X owners to use?

yeah, it will fit the 501X. I wasn;t sure about the 87T AE spur, but that's good news since it's the only one I have as a spare. I do have the 501X spurs but I don't think it will fit.
Pinion fell off in second run! I'm cursed!! I have the long boss 501X pinions - but you need a short pinion for this car! haha.. I've managed to move it further on so it should be OK now.

haha yeah it was rather patheticly just sat there next to the motor. A slipper would be good around here - landing off the jumps and getting on the power gets the front wheels in the air which slows me down a lot.
The track is small - I changed to schumacher tyres and with the basic car and kit setup i was getting to 12.7 laps - the top guys were on 12.1 - so it's pretty dialled now.

lol
I'm in the same heat as matt dodd and Adam Skelding. The fast times in round four were 11.8 or there abouts - I came down to 12.4. I only did 4 laps sadly - slamming the car into the start loop bridge which does NOT move! haha.

I stuck 501X shocks on for the last qualifiers - so I broke a wishbone and a shock shaft. Happy with that since I could repair it. The plastic front hinge pin brace is pretty strong!
