Ordered at the weekend, is just arrived this morning. it looks great. Took a photo with my phone, but the lens is scratched, so the picture is junk. I'll go find my canon G12.

I've just got the frame top and bottom plates so far that make up the discovery frame, will get the FPV stuff in time. Still unsure about which video RX/TX to use, or if i need to go to UHF for control RX/TX? also need to get fatsharks, so this will keep me going for now, as i can mount my gopro on it for better flight films.

Very hard to fly though with stick scaling high, even with expo set low on the tranny.

Well - i've got it out of my system now, over rated if you ask me. Also - no breakages - phew.
Presumably they wont flip with self level on?

Neal - I know that feeling

Col - it will flip with self level on - I wouldn't try it without as it levels itself after the flip

It more rolls than flips with stick scaling at 125. I took it up high ish and just yawed it to the side and it fell / flipped and levelled. I reckon if I'd gassed it and yawed it, it would flip without falling as much. Give it a try

Flew my 330 again tonight at the park - i'm really getting into flying it super low and at speed, really good fun skimming the grass. I did make one mistake and the quad caught the ground and rolled on it's side - like a bin lid rolling, it span along for ages as I was tenting it when it caught the ground. No damage at all I was flying over quite soft / longish grass though

I'm uploading a vid of one of my quick blasts around the park. Really loving how agile this thing is - can't wait to get the motors / esc's for the 450 - although I may make a U-Turn and get the TBS frame. Still can't decide on the Naza. I love the way the KK2 flys and it's very easy to adjust it in the field, I need convincing the Naza will feel as good. Neal - I need to fly yours I think

Most of mine have been between 3 and 5 weeks for delivery.

Thinking I'm gonna put my new Afro's and TBD motors onto my current quad and with my spare elec's build a wood framed tri. The only bits I would need to buy would be a digi servo for the tri and motors for the quad. And a receiver. And numerous other bits no doubt

Fingers crossed the motors will arrive soon

I'm starting to get quite a collection of bits together too - I originally bought 2X330 frames and I also bought 2x450 frames. I'll have 5 spare Turnigy Plush 18amp esc's spare as well as they will be replaced with the Afro ones when they land on the 450 build, lots and lots of props too! I bought bucket loads and to date have only broke 1 and that failed mid flight!

450 finally built and flown

Sunnysky motors initially seem really nice. On the bench with no props the vibrations are almost non existent when running the motors and touching the arm / quad. My Turnigy SK3 motors are no where near as smooth as these.

Flying it - i'd initially say it's as quick as my 330 - maybe a bit quicker, but not quite as 'nippy' and agile. Sure i'll be able to dial that in

Also - i'm waiting on the 'Afro' Simon K ESC's - currently using the Turnigy Plush 18amp esc's. I'm hoping the Simon K esc's will allow me to run higher PI settings for quicker reactions. Overall though, it's rock steady - holds a hover really nicely and seems really well balanced. Sunnysky motors are deffo a winner

Now - how to add / mount a Go Pro / Gimbal etc....

Sounds great Andy. Videos of your maiden flight?

I've just been to fly my TBS discovery with my gopro on, which came back to me today after a trip to Amsterdam. Videos uploading now.

The TBS discovery flew well, feels different in the air to the F450, although the gain settings were the same. Rock solid though and easier to see the direction its pointing at height or distance. Full stick fast forward fight it starts to fly down after it picks up speed, even when you give it more throttle. I'm guessing this is a feature of the differently spaced motors front and rear? I'll have to check gain settings others use, or tweek it myself. i I even chanced it on manual mode for a min or so.

GoPro mounting on some latex foam was successful, no jello video, and nice to have 1080p quality.

Very happy with it. Pics and video to follow.

Sounds interesting Neal - we need to sort out meeting up now the weather is better and exchange info

I'm still tempted by the Naza lite and a TBS - but I had the itch to try the 450. Literally threw it together and set the KK2 the same as my 330 and with a little tweak here and there is flew beautifully

I put a Go Pro under my 330 (just in the garden) and it flew fine - very little, if any jello.

I've ordered a landing skid set / thing for the 450 - hopefully get my Super Simple Gimbal bolted to it - that should do me for now Might chance the GoPro on it if I feel lucky.

I wish i'd bought another set of Sunnysky motors now for my 330!

I still think i'll prefer the 330 in the long run - the 450 feels BIG by comparison. Time will tell - the UK store has the 330 frames in again......

No video - as it was getting dark!

Sorry to crash the thread but I wasn't sure which section to put this in !
I need some help please guys, I flew my DJI Phantom again yesterday for the first time since I fitted some 9" carbon props , it seems to be more responsive with them than with the kit props

The problem is , if I try and descend quite rapidly the quad becomes very unstable as it drops , sort of wobbles from side to side !
Is this normal ? Or is it cos the props are slightly larger diameter than the kit ones ?

I balanced the props as accurately as I could prior to installing , thought it might also be due to the carbon props being stiffer than the kit standards

Any thoughts and help would be appreciated please , oh & one more thing , what's the best settings to have my hero 3 black edition set to for filming ? Don't want to make fancy vids just something that does the job !

Cheers fellas !

Graham
