it may be worth seeing if anybody would split a pro kit so you could buy the shocks at maybe a little undeer retail?about £40 a set sounds reasonable, then someone else could buy berarings and so on.just a thought.they are good shocks.ta jez.

This is my plan too. So far £47.99 for the kit (real cost £2.99 after I sold off one of my very old cars), £8.50 for bearings and £14 for a set of mini spike tyres so that's £70.49 so far. Everything else, speedo, servo, receiver, battery will either be cannibalised from my spares box or begged, borrowed or salvaged from skips . I remember when I started I had a B4 with a crappy 27T motor but seemed to enjoy it more. It all got a bit too serious at the end of last year and stopped being fun so the plan is to start having a laugh again.

Default Build issues

Hmmm, suppose I should expect it for under £50 (glad I bought a 'rat and not the X-Pro) but these are the things I've come across so far:

1. Two of the steering post bearings were very tight on the posts and wouldn't seat properly without some fettling.

2. One of the M3x8 screws at the front of the top plate has stripped out before the screw even got anywhere near tight so I now need a new front bulkhead (the bit with the balljoints on).

3. The top plate itself wouldn't sit right. In the end after fiddling with the steering post bearings umpteen times I've just accepted that it is a "stressed" item now its been forced into place with the mounting screws which is probably not a good thing long term. I expect it'll pull out at some point probably after a hard front end landing forces the shock tower up.

Other than that one of the bloody e-clips made a successful bid for freedom. I hate e-clips and have my fingers crossed that there is a spare one in the pack.

Has anybody actually bought one from Dinball as there IS a contract in place that prevents them being availalbe to the uk?

Also it doesnt look like the pro, more like a mad rat with slightly upgraded shocks. The pro cars come with clear bodyshells and not pre-painted.

So in fact, its about £25 more than the Ansmann version......

If you read the full auction it says "Come with Clean Lexan Body " I think they may well mean CLEAR not Clean

Also to me that does look like a PRO version just with out the green tinge that Ansmann like

Does the UK pro version come with tyres? if not then the one @ Dinball is a pro!

Shall I, shall I not

Let me know if anybody is able to purchase one and have it deliverd to a Uk address. This would then be outside Ansmann's contract and proceedings will be adheared to.

Is there anything you can do about it Jamie? After all the shop is in Hong Kong, so he's not actually importing them into the UK. He is simply selling over the internet to a customer that happens to be in a different country. Which, whilst irritating for you, is not against the rules.......

well, there is ways and means. If Ansmann has entered into a contract, to exclusively sell the car in the european market, and it is contrctual, they will have leaverage.
