Airports:

Southampton
Bristol
Heathrow
Birmingham

Think train TBH...

Heathrow would be your best bet. Or Southamton, but I dont know how regular their flights are.

Looking at train costs, I just looked on the train line website, and the cheapest one-way ticket was £130 on the Sunday.

Cheers Mike will make myself known on there.

Regarding airports, I imagine Heathrow, had to collect mother in law from there today, domestic flight from the Toon so imagine that would probably be your best bet from bonny Scotland.

Default Tyres

Just an update on the tyre rules:

Cutting of the Spike is allowed

Cutting of the internal ribs is allowed

Tyre additive is NOT allowed

Soaking tyres in additive/chemicals before the meeting is NOT allowed

Heating tyres in an oven before the meeting is NOT allowed

I know the last one is a bit random but have heard people saying thay are thinking of trying this!!!

Any one found to be "cheating" will be excluded from the meeting!!!

At the end of the day, all we want is a fun days racing

Marc

Marc,

Another solution would be to 'mark' the hand out tyres for the racers to use. If they need a 2nd or 3rd set they can bring them to a steward in the sealed bag so we can open them up mark them up as well. Can be done by having a 2nd person when booking in on the day is done.

It's a sad state of affiars when cheating is being talked about in what is a competitive but fun meeting .

Neil

Already sourced and glued a rear set of tyres up.

Handout ones planned to be glued and used as and when during the meeting as I can see people using two sets of rears

I do not think there is reason to be concerned or to run checks on tyres.
If someone was to cheat and was found out then his name would be ruined in our sport - I am sure no one would do that either.
We all like advantages but no one in our sport is a cheat in my opinion.
I don't want nail varnish on mine please but if you do i want a bright pink - LOL
I also echo Marcs post - The reason it's all on the same tyes is to be fun and competitive not for cheats - they simply are not welcome.

As for the Oven - Jesus there are some strange people out there!!!!!

Tony beat me to it – echo his points exactly – you might as well give up racing if you feel the need to cheat. Still, handy for Marc to just make it absolutely clear so no-one is confused.

However my top tip for you all is to smear your rear tyres in 40wt shock oil and stick in the freezer overnight. If you want more grip, just go up on the shock oil weight.

Really looking forward to this!!

Rob

Re Neils post above ^
After speaking with Rob Rasey & Neil who are helping run this event, we will not be marking tyres as this will be to much of a ball ache

BUT any one found to be cheating will be asked to leave, if that happens to be on the Saturday, they will also be banned from the Sunday & no refund for entry will be given.

Also, if I find ANY of my Team drivers cheating, they WILL loose there team drive!
