42 Euros for a single class entry ............. I think i'd be a little upset to pay a pound extra to pit where I wanted

I will be fair and stick with £10, but on a first come first served basis...

You lot are so funny - it will all be fine lads - it's the cost and stress of a great venue hence sometimes looking for avenues to generate funds.
We all want these big venues with guaranteed weather (rain) LOL but of course we don't like giving the extra.

Leave it lads as I am sure the meeting will be just great - I will TQ and win both days and big fat pink elephants will be flying in the sky!!

See - it's easy when you're on holiday having a cold one in the lovely sun!!!

See yah there all LOL

What a bunch of drama queens, make a cuppa and take a deep breath!!!

You don't have to pay to pit .... only if you want reserved pitting for a larger group then the club would just like a donation as they will get people bending their ear all weekend about the reserved pitting.

There is plenty of space and I doubt very much anybody arriving before Saturday will struggle. Those arriving Saturday / Sunday mornings might be advised to bring their own table and chair just in case as John has already stated.

I am fairly sure that it was similar at Maritime last year.

I'd also not worry about the organisation, the Ardent boys seem to be well on top of that side of business and have been taking on board what we all have been asking for through the winter series feedback ... give them a chance to show you how good a meeting they can run, sure they won't disapoint ... best indoor club I think I have ever raced at!

Sure Mr Petit will also do his usual cracking job.

Oh and Tony, that shipment of Kyosho branded red fairy dust has arrived, elephants are currently grounded due to the wrong type of peanuts at the departure gate but they should be landing at EMA sometime Thursday

Official Statement on yesterday's Hand Bag swinging.

Where has it been officially communicated by anyone associated with Ardent re having to pay for pitting?? Nowhere!

So why am I having to read all these negative comments and unless I read wrong an Arson threat?

A couple of teams and 1 club have asked to reserve benches so they can pit together, to which I said yes, £10 per bench to cover the hassle of printing signs, closing off the pit benches and asking people to move if they ignore the two. This we are using for beer money for the team of volunteers who are giving up their weekend to help at the event (they are not able to race due to helping out). If that club or team want to share the cost then that's up to them.

We have splashed out on 480sqm of new carpet for the event and for the rest of the Durango series and future events, so please cut us some slack for the past two Durango series layouts, one was fun and experimental the other was as good as we could do while we saved up funds.

Re- Comments about being open for practice, i'm exhausted on this subject, different layout, different jumps, some carpet will be the same as the Petit but nothing you haven't driven on before and our opening times have been posted for over a year.

Rome wasn't built in a day and a lot of you forget I have to have a day job because Ardent makes no money over and above paying the rent, gas and electrics. I will continue to run it in my own time and for as long as I am having fun and reading some of these posts I do wonder why I bloody bother. Anyhow if you don't want to come this weekend then don't, you are the ones missing out, not us or Petit.

Now take some chill pills and stop over reacting to anything that isn't posted or communicated by me or Petit.

team Pit benches can be reserved, individual spots are first come first served.

Maybe it's just me who didn't think it was an arson threat but to me anyone thinking that's an arson threat should probably include themselves in a request to the rest of us to chill out and take things with a pinch of salt.

The other thing I tried to highlight is that the pitting thing doesn't work. You have xxx spaces yes? and either more or less drivers? But now, we can reserve blocks, so that means either someone is paying for a table that someone else rocks up and uses in the end anyway (unless they have exactly 10 in the "team"), or we're now creating/adding to a capacity problem!! I'm sure everyone will happily buy some beers for the volunteers (I'm sure they/you/everyone will need one!) but I just think the pitting paid reserving thing is a bad idea!! Last year as far as I know most teams managed to get together without any of this??

Finally, I know it seems we're all a bunch of moaners, and we are! But please remember this is a VERY expensive meeting people have entered (relative to other meetings) which I think has gone well in prior years without this side of it, so people expect a bit more from it than other meetings due to this.

Roger i would suggest that you refrain from making any more comments, as it was your misinformed post about the pitting charge that started off nearly 2 pages of negative feedback, which i'm sure the club appriciate as you are nothing to do with Ardent raceway!!

This is the reason why clubs close.. When people give up there spare time to run these places aswell as they do in there own free time .the do an excellent job of ardent then all people do is put these stupid negative comments up on here. It would make me think twice about running it with people being like this. I've only been a couple of times and no how much work these people put in and am very grateful. As without these there would be nowhere to race.
Just my thoughts
Thanks keep up the good work

I can safely say that i didn't put any sort of Arson threat... think that everyone is getting a bit carried away!!!!

I was basically implying i would be pretty p%ssed if someone came along and moved my stuff, and then put their gear in my place..... (which i would use for some heat) I never mentioned anything about warming the whole building up by setting it on fire !!

Personally there just seem's to be plenty of statements put on hear by others about things that are happening, this is before anyone from Ardent or Petit post's anything. This then causes a backlash (after all they must get information from somewhere).

Maybe for future reference... Keep things in house and post on one big statement, well in advance so us competitors know exactly what is happening.

Somewhere along the line things have gone a bit off track, and tbh it is a case of what and who do we believe.

Hope this clears things up from my side....

By the way if anyone see's me with a lighter outside I DO SMOKE.....

Lets put it all behind us and focus on having some bloody good racing. It's going to be brilliant to watch and I hope a few of you will film the racing. Roll on Saturday and safe journey to the Raceway everyone. See you all bright and early. :-)

I'm tempted to bring our 3D camcorder but I don't trust myself not to bend, break or loose it .

That would be awesome, buggy racing in 3D. Got to be done, I bet it's insured :-)

By the way does anyone have a projector we can borrow? just for a PC, short throw or long throw will do? Free breakfast if you can lend us one for the weekend.

John.

what an interesting read

personally, had I known that the track would have been open 2 days for practice prior to the event (different layout/jumps etc) I may have thought twice about entering as I will not be arriving until Friday night

If its true about a £10 charge for me to slap a sign on a bench asking for me to sit next to my mates for the weekend, nothing to do with a "team", who do I see to make my payment and do I have to bend over whilst making payment as thats what it sounds like

Never ever heard of a charge for pitting next to my mates before, where is the meter to put my 50p's for the leccy to charge my cells ? Or can I use the genny in the hall ?
