I take my hat off to the expertise being displayed in the shell with the dragon painted in the earlier post... Out of interest, how long would that take for you to do? Preping and painting..? There's some awsome work throghout by the way, that just caught my eye.

Thanks!

That shell took me a while to do, he wanted something that draws the eye in, not something that stood out on the track, not sure why but that is what was requested...

I think more time went into thinking how to do it than actually doing it, I was a bit scared of ruining the shell so it took me a while to pluck up the courage to actually attempt it!
Actual painting was about 6 hours I suppose, give or take. I enjoyed the challenge though so I didn't really care how long it was taking.

A bit of something different, but I had a trip to London over the bank holiday and when in Trafalgar square there was people 'Being Art' on the fourth plinth, anyone can get an hour up there although it's limited to 2400 places. A great publicity stunt and an opportunity to show of painting skills would be to get up there and paint a shell or something else for that matter... Here's a link, www.oneandother.co.uk

Some people did nothing, or just read a book - boring, but to see an expert at work would be impressive..

Cheers! The way art is these days though I think I would be better wearing dirty pants on my head while singing the National anthem and squashing watermelons with a hammer! That would get me in the tate modern for sure!

I should say painters dont make an awful lot off a shell compared to how much time it takes them. After you think of the amount of time that goes into it and the paint cost, tape/liquid mask, airgun matienence (spelling).
