Hey guys, whats the best store to get it from in Europe?
And what bodies are used on the chassis?
Any parts/hop-ups i should get straight on when buying one?
Can i use my 12mm hex wheels on it? Or do they keep using the pin-drive type?

There is an extender included for the rear body mount so the older bodies wil fit, the bodies that fit the 511/502 are a direct fit to the 503, there just is a bigger gap between the body and the rear shock tower.

Proline Bulldog also fits on it straight away, the phantom is designed to go on the longer car so should fit without any gaps.

The TRF501 body also fits but is a bit tight around the motor.

There are turnbuckles included but I haven't driven the car yet so I don't know how strong they are.
So maybe a set titanium turnbuckles.
On most places the silver ballstuds are included, which have never been the strongest or most hard wearing, so you might want some bags of the hardened ball studs.

And maybe the rear hubs, or put a longer ballstud in as the original is a quite short one that is then also fitted on a spacer.

For the rear there is a set of 12mm hexes included with the kit, fronts are the usual 10mm.

Haven't seen any shops yet that stock the spares, they should be in soon i think with stella, rc mart etc.

Several of the parts that you want to have as spares are either the same or they will fit from older cars.

Most of the breakable suspension parts are the same as the older cars, the rear hubs are different but older parts and option aluminium ones will fit.

Front axles with the ring around it are a bit tight in the aluminium caster blocks so they might rub agianst the block when the parts have a bit more slack from use, but they do fit.

Older shock towers will change shock positions but they will fit the 503.

Gear diffs are mostly the same but the pulley is bigger, so that will not fit.
Internal gears and outdrives are the same.

Parts that you might want as spares that do not fit from older cars are just belts, diff pulleys, maybe the center pulley but the old system with the plastic pulleys will fit the 503, think the entire slipper assembly from the 511 can fit into the 503, and a set of shocktowers.

At last i got phantom painted. It fits good. If you're planning to use this body and want perfect fit, you might want to attach the undertray a few mm inward. Or maybe get a proline undertray too. Anyway for me its good as it is. The servo arm ball comes quite near to the body (could reverse it to have more clearence), otherwise there's plenty of room everywhere.. Also don't cut the lines as marked for b44.2 you dont need to cut that much..

All built and ready to try out. With a few extra blue lock nuts added for extra speed.
Used the 511 body as I had a spare one. it fits well, with pretty much the same cut out lines on the rear as the 511, and leaving a little bit extra on the front, and bending a bit of the material to cover the diff a bit better.
Also used the full under tray rather than the side pod type design, again with a little effort this fits well too.
Found it easier to fit the electrics than the 511, but really wish they would move the slipper nut and spring to the other side!
Also decided to use the alu caster blocks and rear hubs.

The diff pulleys have been available for over a year: 51463 TA06 Front Gear Differential Pulley & Case Set (39T)
You can also get a complete diff thats a direct fit: 54470 TA06 Steel Gear Differential Unit (Front)

I was requested to put up a pic of the bottom of the car to show the whole undertray.
I used the 511 body and positioned it so that the marked cutlines were used at the rear, and the body fit against the rear tower.

In order to fit the tray to match, use the marked cutlines at the rear, and use the marked rear hole.
A little of the rear is tucked under the plastic bumper as is done on the 511.
At the front to get some extra material to tuck under the bumper, just bend some of the plastic to give you the extra length you need (a bit of heat helps here). Then mark and cut.
Hope this helps

Default Wheel Base

Can somebody measure the wheel base on the 503 from the centre of each wheel nut front to rear. I'd like to compare with 502X, which is 280mm with 3.5 toe-in rear suspension (front) carrier and 0 degree aluminium hub carriers.

Should be able to do a pretty good comparison for you over the next couple of days when I build mine up

The wheelbase on my 503 is approx. 287mm with the standard kit setup.
