The XX is ready to go, just needs cells putting in.
The RC10 needs a wing/wing wire and body-post mounting screws (the big c/sunk ones), neither of which I have, .
Shame Jimmy'll not be there for more reto pics.

If the ProCat runs tonight it'll be a miracle! Still not ready.

Perhaps Jim will fix it for me?

Yeah, it ran! Was a mission keeping it running all night.

It begged for more power (had a 16 x 2 in it) so dropped in a 11 x 2! I seriously think the 20 turns will be a bit slow, but atleast they'll be the same.

Had great fun, also ran Jims RC10 stealth in the first round as mine wasn't ready. Jim ran his Optima most of the night.

How did we do? We from 4 heats of 4wd modified, Jim lined up 5th and me 7th in the A main! Don't know where we finished, I converted mine to super short wheelbase when all the crash back bands broke about a minute into the final, but it still kept running!

Most fun I've had in ages, bring on the championship!

The RC10 action at the ACES was s tale if two different gearboxes, the 6-gear versus the Stealth.
The 6 Gear on my car melted the diff/spur gear as soon as I tried running a modified motor, with a 19 in it was fine.
Mr W's Stealth was very cometetive, running a 10x2 with no bother.

G - you say the 20's will be slow, yes I aggree, mine with the 19 was slow but it will be the only way that all 1985-1990 cars will run reliably, and as you say we will all be in the same boat.

It's gonna be alot of fun. You and Jim are getting well-too serious about it.....

Looks nice does that - the shell looks like it doesnt fit that car, I mean its newer. The chassis looks like the original yz870c/yz10 from 1988, the shell looks 90's

Theres no way some of these old cars will handle more than that HPI motor reliably. and whats the point - build a smaller track and it will feel even faster.

Theres no way I want to crash my cars at high speed, no parts!

Anyone else using Batley regional as a shakedown/practice? Can't make it to the first Vintage round and have an urge to run the Cobra in anger/comedy/futility.

Does a cobra qualify for vintage? I'm sure it's way later than 1990???

A cobra is in the spirit of the event.
There is nothing on a cobra that is technology from the 90's, it's essentially an old simple design, point being it was out of date when it was new in 1992.
Chris' Hot-Dog, the RC10 Stealth's, my JRX or G's pro-cat may have been sold in the very early 90's but the basic design is 80's.

The oringinal concept was no XX's, B2's, Cat-2000's, XX4's, Lasers, and such which are all proper 90's cars, people (inluding me) are pushing the pre-90 thing with borderline cars but this was always gonna happen.

The Cobra is borderline, yes, but I had one in the cupboard and asked Uncle Stu if I could play nicely. As can be read above, he was gracious enough to agree on the basis that the dated launch design overrides the relative youth of the car.

However, let it be known that I'll gladly step down if anyone is scared of having their ass handed to them by Leicester's finest buggy. (hint: ain't gonna happen!)

Unfortunatly it ain't got no rims

Have a dig about and see what you've got.

My puppy has arrived, im not sure if it is a mongrel or a runt. Although it looks like it has been built and used once at the most, very dusty.

Instruction manual a bit battered, it says "Hot Dog 4" on the cover.

It has some odd springs on (Orange front and red rear) which are too long for the shocks. The front diff doesn't operate, feels like it has no balls and has been tightened so it has limited drive to the front wheels.

I could do with a new body, undertray, shock springs, front bumper and some MX4 wheels, can anybody help???? Jimmy? please?

Sounds like if you can sort the problems the lack of use on the parts will make it a good-un.
None of the parts that are there can be badgered.
