Hello guys, has anyone run the c4.1 on dirt much and can share results/setups.

I know the factory guys revert to the b4.1 (based on rear motor weight of course) but is this really necessary and is the c4.1 competitive on dirt?

Tom Yardy is probably the best person to talk to as he's run the car on dirt before (at the euro's I think).

You really are better running the B4.1 on dirt, as a few people found out at the oOple race mid motor is a real handful!

I was one of the idiots that tried a C4.1 at the oople, I was pitting with Rich and he spent the whole time laughing at my efforts trying to get that car round the track. It was great fun but in no way was it fast.

To say it was a handful is an understatement! Stick with the B4.1 for dirt - I will be!

ok, so do the good guys here have a pretty base setup for the c4.1 for astroturf?

Also a b4.1 setup for dirt?

Im after BASE setups that you guys use as a strating point at most tracks..

Thanks very much in advance for the assistance!

I should clarify, as it sounds as though I am being lazy and not going through setups. I have been through and there are a lot, I am really after what you guys would consider to be a "BASE" starting setup for both cars. I have changed brands so would like a good base to begin with.

The b4.1 is mainly on a track that is quite open but loose and bumpy.

I think I should be ok with a C4.1 setup for astro from Bradders/Cragg/Yardy?

Cheers guys and really hope it doesnt make me sound lazy, as I really appreciate the assistance.

Default Gear ratio C4.1 advice

Just a quick questions gents.

Having stripped my spur gear yesterday want to make sure I'm getting the most out of my gearing, before I rebuild, but not really sure how the gearing ratios work.

I'm running a 8.5 sensored in a C4.1, on all astro high grip track.
What are the best gearing options?

Thanks in advance.

Darren

Hi Krob.

Just a minor query basically! Whenever I try and read the PDF's on an iPad/iPhone the annotations never come across, which basically render the PDF useless, I can however look at it normally on the PC or mac running adobe reader or preview respectively...

I havent tried the Adobe App yet, but it might be something worth looking into, as I really liked having the PDFs on my phone/tablet when trackside, rather than carrying a big folder around in my hauler :-)

Obviously a simple solution is to 'print them off' but I HATE doing this!
just my 2 cents...

If you get the adobe app you can then save the pdfs to the app and the anotaions will appear.

Darren,

Gearing C4.1 - it depends on the make of motor and how you set your ESC, but on a typical Bury track try 81 spur with 25 pinion. That should be fast enough on the straight without being jumpy on the infield.

I had exactly the same question, but setup-wise it was dry
