TBH im unsure and would need to ask the owner what he would take for it.

Out of curiosity, to anyone that knows of these cars, what would you value it at.

Unfortunstely i am apprehensive abouts selling on the bay just in case it doesnt sell for very much and have to tell the owner that it went for peanuts etc.

anyone have any rough values??

Personally i think ebay is a pretty good place to look for prices of that sort of stuff. You could invite offers on this site or maybe the tamiya club website.

If you get no takers, ask the owner what he would part for it for, set that as your reserve and pop it on ebay.

I'm happier doing it myself. I'd restyle them so they actually fit on modern buggy chassis. Remember these old shells were originally designed for 250mm wheelbase cars with 2" diameter wheels.

I already have through Tamiyaclub members. Still got a couple left, one for my own use and one as a base for an updated longer version for modern buggies if there's the interest, the only modern 4wd it fits is a Hotshot.

BTW the Parma Escort Cosworth should still be available http://www.horizonhobby.co.uk/autoon...body10377.html

Can't help on the value of the Manta Ray, I tend to just buy old cars and usually what I can afford might not be what it's worth Tamiyaclub used to be great for valuing cars, but the older members who tracked ebay prices in a spreadsheet (I kid you not) are no longer there so hard to get a precise value. The problem of valuing something like this is all the mods. As an old racer this car is of more interest to me than a Top Force, but a lot of collectors wouldn't be interested because it isn't a Top Force, even though it has much rarer parts. Of course if two collectors are really interested in something as rare as this the price can go high.

Now up on ebay guys if anyones interested.

I have also now acquired 4 rally x shells which are also on the bay.

Would it be great to see a comeback to rally x on our off road tracks.

Not sure on the chassis, maybe fibrelite, but there were so many companies around back then that did similar.
Looks like it was used for on road judging by the wheels?

edit: typed at same time as DCM! overlap!
What did he win the euros with then, I thought it was the same car as what he used at the nats?

He never won the euros for Tamiya, Craig Drescher won it in 1991. I think Jamie was 4th or something with the Manta Ray.
