Cheers for the info, quite reassuring too, as an ex driver he has experience of dealing with them but no vested interest in still being nice, so still singing their praises is a good sign!

I think its more on the lines of lack of infomation on it really, its a good looking bit of kit and i like many outhers are really intrested but,it just seems were being staverd of infomation about it when i think most people just want know where and when, but today a outher manufacture pops up with similar product but with fantastic pictures which i think are more informative than what ive seen sofar from aero.

I must admit a little more info would have been nice from them but then maybe that would have meant it was an even longer wait as they would have been spending there time on the web site and not the car.

I' m sure it will be out very very soon as well, I happen to know a few nice Belgium guys happen to be over here at this moment with a certain production car with which a certain driver is trying it out for the first time

Not sure who or what it is though

No good asking me how it goes, I'm just saying the Aero guys are taking a lot of flack but are working hard at it.

They only have one uk driver as far as I know of, and it's not me, I want a fast car such as X Factory

This may seem like a funny question, but unless a LOT more info appears on Monday, or whenever they start selling it, is anyone even sure it will include instructions? or all the parts needed to run it?

How many cars have you seen that didn't come with everything needed or instructions? Only HPI and Kyosho do that. I'm sure Aero is a much better company than them.

I'm not trying to be rude to them or anything, they've been great with me over email, and answered loads of my numpty questions, I just would have thought they'd get lots more of the preorders to turn into full orders if they manage to get the info up! I'd normally say Tamiya are bulletproof for this type of thing, but even they with the 501x worlds suggest dremelling and filing various bits of their cars before you can build them these days (steering on the tourers, chassis and belt adjusters on the offroad), so I am preparing to have to do a fair bit of work to get the Aero working when I take delivery!!!

I'm really supportive of what they're doing, but being a small company I imagine its key for them to get as many of the preorder people to pay up as possible!

*Long speech, feel free to ignore if you don't care *

I think the A1 will be too simple to need dremeling and filing. Plus since they're starting basically from scratch, and the car has a molded pan assumedly made to their specifications, they should have been able to get everything right without needing modification after. That's probably what took so long to get it ready, lots of little changes, trial and error, r&d, to make sure it's right the first time.

That and whoever is making a particular part (perhaps whatever they're waiting on) is a slacker and can't meet deadlines. I build and sell a product that is primarily molded, like a car tub is, and I know how bad mold shops can be about meeting deadlines. You tell them you need 100 units in 2 weeks, and you know that they can make 100 units in literally 5-6 hours, so they have plenty of time, but 4 weeks later you still don't have your parts. The same applies to any work that is contacted out, machined parts, molded parts, even whoever you are having print your instructions. The further away they are removed from the product, the less they care about the product. I seriously doubt all these delays are Aero's fault.

It's my experience that smaller companies are better than big ones. TTech was a great company. They designed a great car and had great customer support, best I've ever seen. Same for many other small companies, like TOP Racing and the like. But big companies like Losi, AE, Kyosho, HPI, even Tamiya, WORST customer support I've seen in my life. Bad customer support can translate to so many other things, car quality, design, parts support, etc. If they don't even care about addressing their customers' concerns, there's a good chance they don't care about the quality of their products.

If I had the money, I'd preorder an A1 in an instant without seeing anything more than I've already seen because there's no reason for there to be anything wrong with it. My only concern would be the cost of spare arms/carriers and their availability, as long as they don't cost any more than the average and I could order 4 or so of each, I'd be perfectly happy. I've no problem building a car without a manual

Of course, given the money I'd preorder an S500 if you could yet, buy an 501x, , get a mr4bx, and any other car out there (except the b44 because it's just a chinese knockoff bj4)

That is a good post actually, and probably a good point around explaining why the deadlines have slipped!

In terms of spares by the way, Aero told me in an email they'll be personally at all the Nationals again this year, plus there should be a UK source of parts, I'm just guessing it may be a month or two before the parts are much available (I think not all the kits will be delivered till late March so can't imagine much spares supply before then).

Having said that, I'm a numpty, I could never build a car without a manual, I've managed to muck up several even with a manual!!
